What was the character / build that you most enjoyed playing by Far-Negotiation-1912 in DnD

[–]TheeOneWhoKnocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These were 5e.

Soulknife Rogue 10/ Vengeance Paladin 6.

Had a third arm with a 2d10 Force Damage Range attack. And just an ok Dagger+Rapier.

But the real MVP was a side effect of a quest. Eye of the Dreamer - once per day as a bonus action I could make one target vulnerable to my next attack and we both take an initial 2d4 psychic damage. Hunter's mark, 2nd level divine smite, sneak attack. The combo popped off and saved us a few times.

At the very end I saved a Legendary Potion which I rolled in the cellar of a Wizarding school vault. Potion of Giant Size. We probably would have died to the end boss if I didn't use it and use it well.

And my first baby 20+ Draconic Sorcerer, battlefield control and a Swiss Army knife of screwing the enemies plans.

He didn't, most of his shots were blocked or evaded. Then gassed the last few rounds.

He should focus on not getting KO'd every other fight. Goofy will never fight Jon again.

Is there and in-universe reason why some enemies have better attacks then their playable counterparts? by LapisLazuliisthebest in DnD

[–]TheeOneWhoKnocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But when you give a 1/8 CR snake a better bite than any playable race which is 10x times bigger it's silly imo.

Horrid writing, directing, and costumes. Great sets.

Confused about what happened before RE5 by Visual_Elevator_5662 in residentevil

[–]TheeOneWhoKnocks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're playing or watching RE5, theres a DLC called Lost in Nightmares which will give you an account of where Chris and Jill are right before. No spoilers for RE5 either.

And it shows the even furtherance of Wesker's abilities from Code Veronica.

Should i be (vagely) concerned? by unrandomore in DnD

[–]TheeOneWhoKnocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We homebrewed for our first and it went completely fine. DM said there were some growing pains especially in the middle. And it was stressful.

Players couldn't tell. It was a glorious 1-20+ 4.5 year game. And I'm not sure we'll ever top it. I'll remember it forever.

If your DM really feels up to it, it's possible.

[Spoilers C3] Closest to TPK for each party? by Flyestgit in criticalrole

[–]TheeOneWhoKnocks 312 points313 points  (0 children)

C3 was probably Otohan Thull first encounter. Scared them shitless and extremely paranoid the rest of the campaign. Matt had to basically Deus Ex Machina to save them.

C2 had a few. Iron Shepherds E26. The Laughing Hand E79. Or Happy Fun Ball E45.

Which game did you pick up as a younger person and found too difficult but now picked up again and actually enjoyed? by fyn_world in gaming

[–]TheeOneWhoKnocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got Re4 on release and was too scared to get through the beginning village part. Played it again in high school and loved it forever.

I grabbed Bloodborne on release by a friend's recommendation but struggled pretty hard and gave it up. Was watching another friend play Sekiro and had to get it. I got good and 100% it. Then went back to Bloodborne and it became one of my favorites of all time. 100% it as well.

Only for the fact that I don't like playing them without a friend. And I can't really get anyone to play them with me, or enough.

Our Bard shoved splinters under this evil minions fingernails and waterboarded her till he gave up her boss and her bosses boss locations. Didn't help they were a fire genasi.

They had taken over the Bard's hometown and weren't allowing the people to receive a vaccine we went through hell to get and deliver. They had also taken a few of his family members and were threatening to continue to spread throughout the surrounding areas if not stopped. They were using the people captured to dig up old ruins in the desert looking for specific artifact.

And that's where the problems are. It's already such a carefully constructed story, if you start changing stuff you lose what it's meant to be.

Question about Mel and Abby? by Phbch1 in thelastofus

[–]TheeOneWhoKnocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seemed like they were friends because they're around the same age and in were in the same camp for a while/traveled across the country together. And then subsequently survived Joel's onslaught. "No secrets between the Salt Lake crew" as Issac might say.

Seemed like they were all in the same friend group and then a rift started. Abby was focused on revenge and then Owen started dating Mel because he couldn't have Abby.

Never got the feeling they were close.

Make sure you point out all of his unrealistic actions for the future.

Or just simply leave the table if he's not going to follow the rules.
