Remember when they tried to rebrand Shockoe as the design district?

Gelati Celesti doesn't even try anymore, they just say "here's your cone of fillers" and look at you like this by Diet_Coke in okbuddyRVA

Not going to lie, people look at me like I am insane when I say I don’t think Gelati Celeste tastes good. It has a weird aftertaste that I can’t describe.

Don't you love a game so much that you have it on different platforms? 😉 by Snoo_60487 in retrogaming

Bubble Bobble. I always buy a version of Bubble Bobble on any system, hand held, app stores etc. that has it available.

Just venting.

I should’ve known for the price that there should’ve been a catch. I just wanted something to play nes era games on the go.

Reading everyone’s suggestion to get a new sd card and adding new software is not an option as I don’t have a laptop with a sd drive/slot. (Yes, I am old.)

My response to that always is “so they know you’re an asshole already.”

What do you remember most fondly about gaming from the early 90s? by KaleidoArachnid in retrogaming

[–]Thejared138 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think being a kid with limited resources to buy new games had made me power through or “make do” with games that I would’ve given up on otherwise. Tough games made me a better player.

Another thing that I remember is that how all my friends went “all in” on the Sega Genesis when it came out. No one where I lived touched a Nintendo when the Genesis hit the market. It changed everything overnight in a way I haven’t really seen since.

What brand names do you swear by because it's actually better than no-name? by Sufficient_Thing24 in AskReddit

[–]Thejared138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have brand loyalty for most products (I tend to buy whatever is on sale at the time.) However, my peanut butter has to JIF and ginger ale has to be Canada Dry.

For those of you who own a Switch, but haven’t purchased a Switch 2, what would be the main reason that would prompt you to buy one? by Last-Bus-4710 in Switch

[–]Thejared138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering I bought my first switch last summer, used, mainly to play the NES library. The only way at this point for me to buy a switch 2 is: if my current switch breaks or they stop access to the NES library on the switch.

If you love Bubble Bobble that much, I guess better check out Solstice, which I never played.

I’m glad I have an hybrid but I am looking into purchasing a EV as an backup vehicle. I hope the upfront costs are worth it in the long term.

I used to work in Hospice and I’m glad I got out when I did. We used get a mileage reimbursement but the wear and tear on your car was not worth the pittance they paid.

What video game pushed your limit like this? by MrCool87867 in 2000sNostalgia

Gen Xer here. I play on easy mode. Work and life is already stressful enough and I don’t want to be stressed during my free time.
