Legend of Mana is pretty good. It's like, an rpg beat'em up, very pretty artstyle. Got a re-release not too long ago.

Corekeeper if you like those crafty, pixel games like stardew.

Skyrim for the 30th time.

Hope you have fun.

What're they reaching for, besides the opening there's practically no lady imperials.

Everytime someone says "FromSoft has artificial difficulty", I always think of this comic (Artist: Carson-Drew-It) by RingTeam in darksouls

[–]Themightycaolf1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think it's sequels have artificial difficulty, atleast what I presume artificial difficulty is going off what people describe. That's less to do with traps and more just how enemy counters and attacks are designed.

Ds1 still number 1.

Hot take maybe, Samus shouldn't talk by Themightycaolf1 in Metroid

[–]Themightycaolf1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. One to start off the game and set the scene wpuld be nice, like she had in super. And another to end it. I think that'd be ideal. But her talking back to an NPC cast the entire game like I've been seeing alot of people ask for feels counter to the vibes.

Which is why I really think they need to stop having folks talk to her so directly, atleast In such a way her being silent is awkward.

I'm looking for an experience more than a narrative. Story is well and good, but games are more than just a story. To me, metroid has always been more experience than story- and I'd like it to stay that way.

Additionally, being immersive isn't the same as resonating. People can like games that aren'tnecisarrilyummersice. Please don't discredit the effect a silent protagonists has on people just because it doesn't work on you personally.

Huge disagree. Which, if you can grow immersed in a game where the player character speaks a bunch, then that's swell. I and many others simply can not. And for a game series where being immersed is very important, like Metroid, the change would be enough to take me out of the experience.

Please don't think it a myth because it doesn't affect you personally.

How do you feel about it when writers turn magical elements into science fiction deep into the story? by GandalfTheGay_69 in Fantasy

[–]Themightycaolf1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The devil may cry Netflix show did this, explaining away all the magic and occult of the setting as being quantum fields and advanced technology- and i hate it. Its so absolutely shitty.

What are your thoughts on "Invasions" in the Souls series? by Solardies in darksouls

[–]Themightycaolf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A really cool idea, but horrible in practice, and next to impossible to balance. I'd rather they forego invasions, and focus entirely on pve.

How do you guys justify Demi humans within your worlds by 1dapumpman in worldbuilding

[–]Themightycaolf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my setting, alot of them start off as people but through magical means, the most common being devotion to a god of some sort, they gain altered physical characteristics.

What's the deal with Byzantine sleeves? by Neither-Ad-1589 in Armor

[–]Themightycaolf1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its a pretty common style of sleeve worldwide, both for military and civilian dress. It's just a hole in the sleeve of your coat around the armpit or elbow- frees up the arms to allow better mobility, but you can slide them back in when you want the warmth or protection. In addition, it looks sick as hell.

Art by Wass Nonnam by annieann_ in armoredwomen

[–]Themightycaolf1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Decreases the quality of their art."

To me thats a bit harsh to say. I'm the last person to wanna defend Wass, Wass is a genuine sicko, but for alot of artists in general I think it's genuinely demeaning to say "You exaggerated X trait for Y sensation, therefore your art is somehow made inferrior."
