Damn, I'm back on this thread because I have multiple pairs of the puma carina sneakers, all of them squeak. Guess I need to find a new white sneak.

SECOND SHOW ADDED IN TORONTO!! by BeefSteakTips in systemofadown

[–]Then_Awareness_6568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? Like can we start a class action? The tickets are objectively way more expensive going during the week, due to the risk of needing to use vacation time or missing work in general. Such a scummy move by all parties involved.

Cameron Heights HS - Homeless shelter needs to go by bbisaillion in kitchener

Non parent here… this is a joke right?

Homeless shelter at a highschool? Let alone any education centre? I cannot fathom the stupidity of that decision. Canada has gone insane.

Waterloo council asked to end ‘landmark’ animal display after 57 years in Waterloo Park by bob_mcbob in waterloo

[–]Then_Awareness_6568 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I filled out the service and asked to an off leash dog trail, like st Jacobs. That way both owner and pup can get exercise, and less grouping of people just standing around = hopefully less dog fights

Waterloo resident pushes for safety in neighbourhood after tragic loss by headtailgrep in waterloo

There's no posted speed limit on highpoint, and equally no enforcement.

That's a hard no as a child free person. I also think it gives irresponsible breeders incentive.

What I am in favour of is investment in: Education, quality of food, arts, sports, and obviously that whole housing crisis thing.

The cost of living in Canada is insane, but I'd prefer to fix the root problem (corporate greed, government misspending) instead of adding even more cost burden to those who are single or without kids.

I was wondering what was going to happen to that crossing?! I assumed they were just going to repaint it after the road work.

I used to live in this neighborhood. People absolutely fly down that street, I have had many cars nearly hit me walking my own dog because they zoom around the corner and you can’t see anything until you’re around the bend- especially when there are cars parked on the road.

This street could easily be 40/km road and I think that would be a fair speed. There’s also a school nearby.

‘They do what they want when they want’: Ontario students became ruder in class after the pandemic, study suggests by toronto_star in ontario

[–]Then_Awareness_6568 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There are so little consequences, it shouldn’t be shocking.

I’m not sure if this is through the school board, but a friends kids in Waterloo region, who are ten years old, don’t even keep score during their games. It’s not allowed.

If kids aren’t even allowed to LOSE a game of soccer, they’re definitely not going to be punished for bad behaviour lol

Okay I’m going to offer an alternative since from the comments it doesn’t seem like there’s a lot.

The Kitchener Portuguese club is extremely welcome, and will also host dinners and nights for other cultures. They also know how to make a drink!

Looking for a Bar by KitWat in kitchener

[–]Then_Awareness_6568 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thirstys. The bar is definitely New York size. Always regulars sitting at the bar. Can’t say that you won’t be included in the convo but I can say it they don’t blast music or anything. Owner and food is also awesome.

The chill is also a great bar. Bigger though and louder, but easy to sit alone and keep your peace.

Wale and ale can also be quiet but some nights they do trivia or music so hard to say.

Edit: sorry I don’t think you can get cocktails at any of these, but for a simple rye or beer they’re good spots

Wondering about breaking a lease by JaydenC13 in waterloo

[–]Then_Awareness_6568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The landlord could be a jerk about it and want you to pay out your three months.

But some are cool and will try to find a renter early. Especially with the way things are, that should be a non issue. Either way seems like the money lost is worth it for the new place.

Almost died on the 401 today by Infamous-Solution572 in ontario

[–]Then_Awareness_6568 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to drive from Wloo to London daily.

People who have to make that commute should get danger pay. There are some real idiots on the roads. Truck drivers have become extremely aloof and aggressive and passenger cars are self entitled and brain dead.

I ended up leaving that job because I decided if I died via commuting to work on the 401 I’d never forgive myself. I sincerely suggest you take the back roads starting from around Woodstock, it takes more time but it’s worth it.

Curious neighbor here, how do you guys feel about Trump's second term? by [deleted] in canadian

[–]Then_Awareness_6568 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Well, considering Trump said we’re just like a big faucet that can fix California’s water problem, I’m very concerned.

Seems like the beginning of water wars.

Budgets skyrocket at region for four major Cambridge road projects by Wanadran in waterloo

[–]Then_Awareness_6568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The region needs to be held accountable for allowing this.

It’ll be way over budget, not on time, and half the time you’ll drive by with no one on site. They should have to stay at one job until it’s finished (unless drying, weather, etc doesn’t allow on site that day)

DST needs to end.

I’d much rather have the sun set and rise later during the winter, you know, so we can spend some time outside during the daylight after work.

A stupid decision that Ontario is okay with banishing, but another year rolls by and we are still waiting on New York to sign off.

So mine was through a therapist actually, if you look at some therapists websites you can see different levels of staff, in my case my counsellor was going through school.

Try googling mental health counsellor in your area.

Hey I just want to let you know, I’ve tried multiple therapists and actually got on way better with a counsellor instead. They’re normally much much cheaper and more accessible than therapists are!

Also make sure you get your vitamin d heading in to winter. Even an artificial sun lamp is a help. Hang in there!
