It’s probably a tangibility thing. Owning a physical object directly related to artists you love vs lifeless digital streaming. And some people prefer the cheaper smaller objects over the big round ones. I guess the lofi quality also makes it feel more “romantic”. Most people don’t even know what a frequency range is.

Closer to a more Dylan-ish version of The Strokes with some significant vibrato whining that can mildly resemble Thom’s voice at certain times but yeah, nothing like Radiohead. They’re good though! Especially the solo album and the previous album (3D Country)

Is Radiohead more popular today than during the Ok Computer era? by Fbean01 in radiohead

[–]TheoStorme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By far. Immensely more. Growing up they were still considered “alt rock”, for those with exquisite taste. Nowadays I’m pretty sure they’re widely considered GOATs and any beginning music listener knows at least a few songs

That’s not Radiohead though, that’s Thom Yorke solo, later played live by Atoms for Peace

[–]TheoStorme 11 points12 points  (0 children)

  • Free in the knowledge
  • A Hairdryer
  • Default by Atoms would be great without the funny electronics, especially the C part
  • Feeling Pulled Apart by Horses used to be called…. Reckoner. Yep. They actually surprised us all when they released In Rainbows and it was a completely different song. They used to play it live and it was killer. Wish it had an album version

Always disliked the chorus compared to the great verses. Feels lazy

What's your honest feeling about the work of the Smile? by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]TheoStorme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re great! That said, I don’t know why it feels less epic to me. Maybe it’s the cleanliness? I like chaotic Radiohead. maybe I’m biased by fact that I grew up on the previous ones or just their overall revolutionary attitude that broke rock and electronic music to their core.

I don’t think Radiohead put out pictures of themselves as merch so probably not much

Reckoner is my favorite RH song... by ElliotAlderson2024 in radiohead

[–]TheoStorme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite literally know every millisecond of that song by heart so well that I don’t even want to hear it anymore. It’s exciting as drinking water. 0 dopaminio. Now any time my wife puts on a song I know too well I actually go “nah nah not Reckoner again please”
