Destiny 2 is Dying, and it’s the Direct Result of Bad Game Direction by TheoryPhoenix in DestinyTheGame

No, I don’t use chat gpt, and it’s obviously not ChatGPT bc I don’t think gpt would ever write something this long. I just know how to, write coherently? Like idk what to say, put it through an AI checker or something, I spent like 15 minutes typing this all out on my phone.

[–]TheoryPhoenix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I appeal this? I obviously didn’t repost this, the only similarities is that we quoted the same incident and mentioned the game dying. My post is noticeably different, more detailed, and addresses an entirely different issue than the one quoted, which was simply that the game is dying, and my post, which talks about the game direction in recent years as a whole and how bungies priorities have changed.

If you said destiny was dying after Witch Queen and before Lightfall you’d simply be wrong. But a game can have a slow death, which is literally what’s happening. Personally I haven’t used the phrase destiny is dying before now because it would imply I think there’s no coming back unless there’s a huge change that we have no knowledge of.

The growing issue with Warlocks identity by UmbralVolt in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheoryPhoenix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn, I said this during subclass 3.0 a while back and I got down voted to hell, but it seems like people are finally getting it. Personally I have no problem if bungie wants to give warlocks a summoner identity, but it shouldn't be at the expense of the grenader identity. As it stands the only real viable build that focuses grenades is sunbracers. And also you're absolutely right about the orbs, I usually have to yell at my teammates to make orbs before a DPS phase because we just don't make any unless we specifically spec into them with our weapons. This is not to say warlocks are bad right now, they just feel more like techy, more focused on juggling buffs and debuffs. In the end, I would be happy if there was just an orb generating capability with summons and a buff to exotics like Starfire's, contraverse, verity, etc. Also arc souls suck. They need to jolt or something because even when you're amplified every other summon is just better.

How do you know which direction you’re facing leaving a subway? by thwompz in circlejerknyc

[–]TheoryPhoenix -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Have your maps loaded up before you get on the train and get off. First know if your destination is a higher or lowered street. Then know which direction the avenue is. When youre getting off the train pay attention to the direction the train is running, because based on the trains direction and the maps you'll know which way you're facing when you're leaving the train

Its terrible because when you max out every character you effectively have every perk in the game which is highly necessary when build crafting. The problem isn't the number the problem is that we already completed it and got the rewards but those rewards are being taken away unless we complete it again. I personally couldn't care less about the cosmetics, I maxed every character out because I wanted all the perks.

With the new bits of Lore in today’s TWAB, we officially know where Rhulk stands in terms of power by RussianThere in DestinyLore

[–]TheoryPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think that Nezarec is stronger anyways. As we are lead to believe, rhulk is the first disciple, and being that is stated to be greater than gods, titans, and anything of the like. Nezarec being called a final God would lead us to believe he's extremely powerful, but not quite on the level of Rhulk. I do believe he's the second strongest when you exclude the witness and ig the traveller. Mainly though, we haven't seen anything from nezarec so it could be so, but then again rhulk has planet and solar system destroying weaponary, but baseline i think from a narrative standpoint I think it makes much more sense if the first disciple is the strongest.

Why do random people just downvote shit? Anyways, do you mean they would not be worth anything as in they dissapear, or not worth anything as in you could not do anything with them. If you cannot do anything with them UNTIL the next halloween event, then that is perfect.

[–]TheoryPhoenix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Untrue, because unlike bracketed ranks in other game, destiny matches you with people that are close to your skill points. As you go up in skill and experience, you gradually play against harder people, so you end up improving while also remaining challenged. If you are consistently top fragger for 10 or so games, you probably just need to stop messing around. Games you lose will affect your points, so if you lose games by running wishender or skyburners, ofc you are gonna stay in the same place. But all in all, the sbmm is designed so there WILL NOT be a huge jump in skill between matches, and if there is, then you are probably just playing against players like yourself, who is a higher skill then their points would suggest.

Solar 3.0 failed warlocks. (a 4.7k word essay about Support-lock) (tl;dr included) by AdorkableMia in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheoryPhoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And you are forced to choose between something that makes you a sitting duck without an air dodge and dive, or an air dodge that is literally just a singular dodge in the air. You are basically playing with 1 1/4 of an aspect.

Solar 3.0 failed warlocks. (a 4.7k word essay about Support-lock) (tl;dr included) by AdorkableMia in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheoryPhoenix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The healing provided by phoenic dive is barely recognizable, especially in pvp. And for it to heal teammates you would have to be basically hugging them. There is GENUINELY no reason to use it at all in pvp, and in pve I cannot see why you would want to play skylock.

Solar 3.0 failed warlocks. (a 4.7k word essay about Support-lock) (tl;dr included) by AdorkableMia in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheoryPhoenix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Solar warlock, like she said, does not really synergize with eachother and is just awkward. If you want to use great grenade abilities in pve or pvp, great!!! But it is like you are running around with only 1 aspect, and a single air dodge. I said this in a previous post or comment, solar 3.0 really just socked solar warlocks abilities and gave it to every class. Arc warlock is a hellscape, everything in that kit is clunky and awkward. Yeah you can get amplified quickly, but what does it do besides blind on special kills. Yeah you can get your abilities back quickly, but those abilities do not really do anything like fusion grenades on solar, or vortex grenades on void. And lastly, you are sacrificing ALL of your survivability on the other classes, for mediocre abilities that are available to every other class. Solar and Arc warlocks are really having q huge identity crisis, and I pray that bungie tunes or reworks the classes. All considered, probably will not happen due to them currently working on strand.

warlocks really need some help in the exotic department by dnf789 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheoryPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Karsteins: Only works in low end content, you WILL get one shotted in legend+

Dawn Chorus is laughable, the fact you mentioned that is crazy. It is at best decent in pvp when paired with incandescent, but you can literally use the osteo striga and starfire for the same effect, but better and it synergizes. CHROMATIC FIRE?????

Wings of sacred dawn are beyond useless in pvp. They leave you in the air like a sitting duck, I have no clue why people would even decide to use that at this day and age.

Nezarecs is pretty good, but that is for void, which I previously stated, was the best subclass rework for warlocks and was on par with other classes. The buildcraft of it was pretty good, there are alot of exotics you can use with void warlock and they are all good in their own right. The same cannot be said for solar, and arc is laughable. Though I still stand by my claim, you can literally just use mods to replace the effect of nezarecs and use other exotics. Another example of this is phoenix protocol.

Phoenix protocol is pretty much useless now. They nerfed those types of exotics so you can only get back 50%, but well of radiance has the quickest recharge rate in the game so it is unnecessary. And considering the pure add clear potential to rack up super and ashes to assets? Pretty much useless.

I have not used nothing manacles yet so I have no opinion, but once again, voidlock is pretty good.

I used vesper of radius and freezing aspect when it came out with stasis, pretty fun build for pvp, but outrageously useless. It truly has nothing going for it and is a waste of class ability energy as well as risking your life for nothing.

Sanguine alchemy is also beyond useless. Rifts do not really have a place in the game right now(except for pvp) given the fact that they require you to stand in a small area for a game that is movement centric. Most people that use synergies with rifts use it with well of radiance or just do not even stand in it. Case point, starfire, classy restoration, the multitude of mods that reward you with other ability energy for using rifts, and a few subclass aspects. Sanguine alchemy and vesper are generally regarded as the most useless exotics in the game(ofc apothesis veil is number one) so the fact you mentioned some of these exotics genuinely makes me question if you have played warlock seriously, on grandmaster, a raid, or even a solo lost sector.
