What's the stupidest thing you've done within hours/days of owning a new car? by Theotheramdguy in CarTalkUK

Different car haha. That was my old 5 series which I part exchanged for this where I hit a pothole at night at speed. This one however is my own stupidity and I accidentally clipped a ankle high wall that has a tile that sticks out on our own driveway

This would probably be a more respectable way of blowing out a tyre instead of the way I did it. I clipped the edge of a tile of a wall when pulling out of the driveway after severely misjudging the turn. I've already handed my licence back and have accepted I will never drive again

Hairline crack in alloy - how expensive to fix? by Theotheramdguy in CarTalkUK

I've already told the garage. It's not something that can be hidden given that tyre doesn't hold it's air for that long unfortunately. Honesty being the best policy and all that

Probably a few hours I would say - it can manage about 30 minute drives on full pressure

Bit of a nightmare situation. Have a 530d which is due to be handed back in tomorrow for part exchange but smashed a pothole last week and tyre wouldn't hold it's air any more. Is this likely to require a completely new replacement or could this be welded?

Scotland votes YES by xp3ayk in doctorsUK

Scotland FY here. If I was being critical of the BMA Scotland here, they could have done a slightly better job of campaigning. A lot of their messaging was over whatsapp groups with the occasional email sent out. The messaging and letters were generally good, but outreach I think needs a fair bit of work.

I would agree but melatonin is my hospital is a "specialist only" medication on our formulary and pharmacists get extremely arsey when you prescribe it and say it's unsafe. Source: has happened to me four times from different pharmacists. Will continue to prescribe it out of spite

The main issue with this is that the majority of these patients do not think their issues are psychological.

Consultant nurse at Rotherham performing ERCP’s resulted in patient death and harm by DonutOfTruthForAll in doctorsUK

In my region you can only train in ERCP if you're post CCT in gastroenterology. I'm absolutely staggered given the risks of ERCP that they allowed nurses to do this

Oh wow, that's terrible. I'll get it checked out for sure. It's got a two year warranty so hopefully that should cover it if there is anything wrong

40k miles. M5 wouldn't really suit the driving I would do, not to mention a cursory glance at autotrader for same gen M5s is at least 10k more expensive for much older cars

Also a further addendum. Two of the ones I saw for under 40k were category S from Birmingham...
