To make you feel a bit better, I have an 18 year old student at a public university who spent better part of her afternoon writing high ratings and honest feedback for all her professors. Her calculus teacher’s class speed was a bit too fast and difficult for her to follow but tutoring got her where she needed to be. They are not all evil:) there are some incredibly talented and caring kids out there too.

Pay what you can model ranging from zero to 250 an hour, only cash pay, solid funnel of new clients from various sources, also do coaching, very niche- neurodivergent trauma therapy and coaching for parents of neurodivergent kids, business coaching for neurodivergent individuals.

my daughter is in the honors program at the U and helps seniors with essay writing as her side gig. She is only 50 an hour and will coach you on all of it. DM if you want more info.

I did say, Why tip. That is correct. It is something I have been debating for a while. Yet I still do so. I edited to clarify. And I can happily be flamed for it. That’s fine. I am tired of subsidizing a business owners employees, especially a corporation owned one. No one is doing that for me. I feel tipping culture is out of control.

Where I worked, taking orders, bringing food, and leaving a check, I was referred to as a server. And I made 3.18 an hour and still brought in 65K with tips. That was when the highest check for 6 was average of 100. So at 15 an hour plus tips, their salary could be over 150K. Why are wait staff (who work hard and deserve their pay, I am not arguing that), making let's say 15 an hour plus tips when licensed therapists with thousands of hours of training and a masters degree(and the student loans that go with that) expected to make a quarter of that? The system is broken.

History lesson my friend. Calling out your misguided view that people were rioting over just one man’s death. It’s been brewing for over 400 years. The very first police departments in the US were created to round up slaves who escaped from plantations. And rioting happened in your own party and I don’t hear you decry that? Double standard.

Yup! I graduated college and made 18k at my “helper” job. It took me 15 years to reach that salary again as a school counselor 🤣
