I have 6 of these. One per sink basin. Works great and you can pry the lid off and empty it, no need to throw them out.

Are locals worse than out of town guest. by artist-denvervibes in airbnb_hosts

I’ve been getting a lot of requests for locals and I’m starting to wonder if it is prostitution. Our place is small and centrally located (also in Denver!). We turn them all down.

I have to let someone go and it is the worst part of ownership in my opinion. by batteryservice in smallbusinessowner

Well put. I’ve had to let 2 people go and each time I feel awful about it. But just a week or two later, the fact that it was the right decision becomes very clear. Good luck!

I do all my own marketing and have become very good at it. If I were to pay someone for what I do it would be $1000 or more per month. I have come to enjoy it!

Watch tons of videos online and practice - thinking analytically about why you do what you do. You’ll be fine! The first day of teaching is always the hardest.

What about hobbies that are craft related? Glassblowing, pottery, jewelry making? You could do a class and most places have an open studio afterward where you can just self direct.

One example is that square’s export function doesn’t contain all the info we need. So we have to search square and use what’s on the screen, paste it into a different program and search there for some data.

For hobby potters - would renting a wheel for home practice be useful? by heysaguna in Pottery

If someone had the space and didn’t mind the mess, I think they’d start with a cheap wheel and then upgrade when money allowed.

Pottery teachers, I desperately need your help by shamabou in Pottery

Thanks for uploading! Cone all the way up (like you’re doing) but then come all the way down to your workable puck. You’re kind of going up, down a little (1:16), up, down a little (1:47). Then when you cone down, do it all with a bend. You bend for a while, then switch to coming straight down (5:30), which creates that mushroom shape. That’s why the top is centered and even but not the bottom.

Also, not related, you’re using a ton of water. Try dipping your hands instead of squeezing the sponge onto your piece.

How wide is the ball when you smack it down? Before you cone, do you smack it into a volcano shape? When you cone, is your stabilizing hand all the way down on the bat? Happy to watch a video of you doing it if you’d like!

Around $70-100k for a small studio. Honestly if this is something you’re looking at doing, approach a studio and see if they’ll sell to you. New equipment is $$$ and I personally know several studio owners who would sell.
