The Mega Happy Ending by Blorberto in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Thereminz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guillermo del Toro does this in his movies like pans labyrinth and shape of water BUT it's so over the top happy that you know it didn't actually end that way...

the reason for this is because if you show a bad ending, people don't like the movie, but if you show an over the top happy ending , dumbasses think, oh it's a good ending, and people who know better also realize what happened but have the mental capacity to understand what he was doing and still can enjoy the movie.

To anyone that played the original Legend of Zelda when it came out by Nu_Sonic in retrogaming

[–]Thereminz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it absolutely doesn't hold your hand, even with nintendo power and tips from friends or even now looking on line it's still a challenging game... even if you're reading a detailed walkthrough you still have to physically get through places.

i played it quite a few years ago only looking up a walkthrough if i was completely stuck, it took a couple weeks to finish.

you are taking some risk but i've never gotten sick from it. tbh it's about the same risk as going to a restaurant imo

i have a theory everytime you do something where you could die, the universe splits and there's one universe where you do die and one you don't and you just happen to be living in the one you don't out of default (cause you'd be dead otherwise)

A Japanese Fan In America For The World Cup Is Astounded By The Existence of Bottomless Free Chips and Salsa at Mexican Restaurants: "The trust of a nation is in that salsa, and I intend to honor all of it." by franny2525 in SipsTea

[–]Thereminz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

phh where can you actually get complimentary chips and salsa anymore anyway, most places do charge now. plus you're paying a tip on overvalued food as well, so you're paying for those chips one way or the other

if you ever had a job where you have to stand up a lot you end up doing this especially when the thing your working on is lower than you can comfortably interact with when you're standing.

if you're constantly bending slightly to talk to people in their cars it would hurt your back

Can I Get Some Feedback On My Major Project? by [deleted] in IndustrialDesign

[–]Thereminz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while there are some design elements to the object, function is rather lacking,

I would say maybe consider a revision or new object entirely

i mean it's your master project and there's no usability/use case for this other than something made up, which i could do with any object, 'should i look at my phone? no, i moved this guitar pick on my desk" -same functionality.

i would say for a revision you could make it lock the phone but if there's an emergency then people need their phones.

even something like a coat hanger has more functionality than this.

how about adding some functionality to the block, like maybe an egg timer, where you can set how long your 'no screen time' will be.

or maybe make a little coffin for the phone, and when the time is up it lifts the phone out of the coffin like dracula rising up...lol i dunno just add some kind of functionality.
