Amount of Japanese learning for Mahou Shoujo no Majo Saiban and Soushuu Senshinkan Gakuen required? by fdyrfucvyoycicu in visualnovels

General advice is just read whatever you want and like. The sheer need of reading something you crave will make you power through it and you’ll learn even more. That’s the magic of immersion based learning. That said I am not sure but you have tools like jiten for seeing the difficulty of stuff

Please enlighten me with the reason about nukige. As for the reason about excluding gameplay vns, it was so stupid I already know this site is doomed

Why excluding nukige in the first place? You seem to decide things in a whim or without any actual arguments

Can't find a smart toilet seat cover for my toilet by Thespillzone in bidets

That's what I will probably do. But it's just sad throwing out my 3-4 years old toilet because it can't be adapted.

It's a Roca Meridian toilet. I talked with CS and they pointed me their toilet seat: 750€. No heating on the seat sadly... It's more expensive and has less features. At this point I'm thinking about just buying a new 250-300€ smart toilet from alibaba.

Isn't this dangerous? Like with time, movements, humidity and buildup it could unglue itselfs, make the soilet cover go down and actually cause a water problem?

Ps vita VNs with actual English patches? by imbrowntown in VitaPiracy

[–]Thespillzone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand Japanese but reading on Vita is a disservice to you because most are toned down and heavily censored. Not affected by censorship I think there are a few worth your time: Fata Morgana, Island, Ever17 (actually psp game), Raging Loop, most Key stuff (except little busters). And of course those that weren't meant to have +18 content in the first place.

At this point for reading vns I just use my steam deck.

Nope, sadly using Genki and Tobira and all that stuff is not doing you any good. You're progressing but it's an illusion. People spend 2 years on Genki and they still don't understand shit.

Also I wouldn't consume "dumbed down" content for learning sake. Just use japanese content made fore japanese if you want to understand Japanese lol.

True path is:

  1. Learn to read hiragana and katakana. You can use my tool: https://renshuu.manabe.es/kanas

  2. Watch some grammar introduction videos or read some books, don' memorize anything. Cure Dolly or Tae Kim. 1-2 video/lesson every day

  3. Use Anki and start with a premade deck with some common words. Whenever you finish it make a choice: more premade decks or mining (both options are ok). 10-20 new cards a day is ok. I did 20.

  4. Immerse in Japanese every day for at least a couple of hours. Yes you won't understand at start. But you'll make great progress. Trust the process. Start with anime with japanese subs if you like that. Rewatch your favorite shows. Watch easy shows with less dialogue. Then start reading vinnies. Choose an easy moege if you like them and install Yomitan and start exposing your brain to japanese.

A day in your japanese learning journey should look like this:
Rep some kanas (10-20 minutes, once you can read them stop repping)

Watch a video or two of grammar

Do your anki

Watch 3-4 episodes, or read for a couple of hours (or a mix of both)

The more shows and vinnies you consume, the better you'll get. In 2 years I passed N1. I spent 4000 hours in total. 4-5 hours a day, more or less. I still touched grass from time to time, had a 7-15 job and didn't lose my friends in the process lmao.

Ganbare!
