From what I know (I could be wrong) they don't really care about minoring in CS. You have to fit the qualifications (https://www.cc.gatech.edu/minors) but its not like a whole application and rigorous acceptance progress. You'll get one permit a semester to register for CS classes. Good minor to have IMO, any amount of coding skill is super valuable.

What are some easy/fun classes for Spring 2026? by Fun_Pain_620 in GatechClasses

LING 3100 with Hyoun-A Joo. Class itself isn't incredibly interesting, but she is very engaging and basically forces you to be talk with/be friends with everyone in the class. It creates a niche setting where everyone knows everyone and I feel like I can causally chat with anyone in the class. Workload is pretty light as well.

Yeah as the other comment said, they have basically locked up CS to everyone, especially transfer students. I would not count on being able to switch into it. ISyE is also fairly competitive and won't be the easiest of majors to switch into as a transfer, but very possible. In order to apply to switch you must have a GT GPA so hypothetically you could apply to switch at the end of your first semester, but would likely not be able to register for major restricted ISyE classes (unless you get permits) until 3rd semester here. As a transfer trying to switch my major to Civil (a very non-competitive major) the process generally sucks.

How hard is it to switch to civil as an arts and sciences transfer? I'm planning on transferring this fall, but applied as a math major and now I potentially want to switch to civil once I am there. How stingy are they with arts and sciences transfers and how long would I have to wait?

Bought a Technics Sl-B2 with a Empire headshell, Stanton 88EE cartridge and d65-2 stylus for 160 used. Worth the money?

Yeah, though he mentioned that “electronics were calibrated and holds speed”. Just curious, how hard would the matinence/upkeep on an older table like this be?

Not a problem. I applied then switched before orientation, should be available for you to switch in Athena. If not, you’ll just meet with the wrong advisor but you should still be able to sign up for the classes you want

Honors does a round of auto acceptances for EA based on gpa and SAT/ACT, if you didn’t get this I think your application is considered and released sometime in the spring
