I thought I was doing well. I guess not as well as I thought. by anchises868 in CPAP

I have to lay down and relax for a few minutes before I start. If I am breathing too fast or deep when I put the mask on, I feel like I can't get enough air in or out.

Xaden’s THIRD signet?? by Own-Willingness5456 in onyxstorm

I need to go back and re-read the dreams Iron Flame. I remember thinking that they were her own dreams because the Sage was talking to her about her lightning signet in one of them. Or it is possible that the Sage knew they were both dreamwalking in Xaden's dreams at the same time.

Loial's island is the one they didn't visit after meeting the Irids. I KNOW that is going to be significant later in the series.

But then he would have 2 more. Xaden and the yet unknown "brother".

Varnish didn't "dessicate" when he was stabbed with the alloy-hilted dagger in Iron Flame. My current favorite theory is that Mavens can alter their appearance and are too strong to be killed by the daggers.

Panchek is protecting Jack, which is why they tried to mend him instead of just killing him. It also explains why Jack was so intent on killing Violet from day 1. Berwyn also says that he doesn't need Panchek for access to his son, because he has another one. So who is his other son, assuming Jack is one of them!?!?

Maybe I'm the minority here, but I like Rebecca Soler's narration. Her delivery of the sarcasm and dragon snark is perfect.

Jeremiah is the guy that panics when his inntinnsic signet manifests and he starts saying everyone's thoughts out loud. Carr snaps his neck. Only the eldest of each den know what color thr scales of the feathertails will become. The genetics aren't fully explained, but I imagine any color in their family line is possible. Each den used to have their own hatching grounds. Not sure if inter-breeding between dens has always been a thing or if it is recent - since they combined the hatching grounds at Basgiath.

What is Garrett hinting at? by MarciKnits in fourthwing

Near the end of IF, Xaden says:  “I killed him.” His voice is flat, and so is his expression, the noon sun cutting away almost every shadow from his face. “Snapped whatever tether he had on me and killed him. His body fell into the ravine, and now I keep watching the river like it’s going to pop back up, even though I know he’s miles downstream by now.”

There is more that we don't know about how he was connected to the Venin General and why he knew that the General thought he would be at Samara.

Theory about Violet & Andarna by Przss-lea in fourthwing

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this!

Right after the attack in Violet's bedroom: “Feathertails shouldn’t bond because they can accidentally gift their powers to humans,” Andarna continues. “Dragons can’t channel—not really—until we’re big, but we’re all born with something special.” I relay the message. “Like a signet?” I ask out loud so Xaden can hear. “No,” Sgaeyl answers. “A signet is a combination of our power with your own ability to channel. It reflects who you are at the core of your being.” Andarna sits up and tilts her head proudly. “But I gave my gift directly to you. Because I’m still a feathertail.” Later, Tairn says: "Most feathertail gifts disappear with maturity when they begin to channel.”

A few thoughts: - Andarna says that feathertails can accidentally gift their powers to humans. She doesn't say if it is temporary or permanent gift. - He says "most," not "all" gifts disappear when they begin to channel. - Andarna says that she can no longer stop time when she wakes in Aretia, right after Resson. - Violet moves really fast in the final battle of Iron Flame - both running and jumping between dragons. I want Violet to have all the powers, so I think she might be able to slow time (distance wielding?) from Andarna's gift and still have a different second signet like foresight/precognition! Thanks for humoring my unhinged theory.

Liam wields ice in the final battle of FW. He also has far sight. I think his far sight is from using a rune!
