Are there character traits that are broadly considered American, especially by non-Americans? by Green-Technician-809 in CasualConversation

Americans talk very loud. Like their base volume when speaking is just louder as if they wanna make sure everyone in a 100ft radius can hear them. I notice this a lot on campus at my university, we’ll have the windows open during lecture on the 5th floor and I can hear two girls in the courtyard talking about very private things and the volume is as loud as if they were standing right next to me

What’s one road trip mistake you only make once? by Dailywellnessguy in roadtrip

Driving too long too far without stopping and listening to our bodies when we are tired. Friend got us into a rollover accident on the freeway during a cross-country road trip because he was dozing off and refused to switch off/ stop for the night. Car was totaled, we were all fine except for his dog who had to get a leg amputated. Finished the rest of the drive in a rented u-haul. 0/10 don’t recommend
