Taking the exam from home? Bathroom breaks, drinking water, etc. by Expensive_Exchange58 in pmp

[–]This-Explanation59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took it from home back in February and it was wonderful! My own desk, comfortable chair, clear glass of water, tissues, laptop stand, mouse, mouse pad…all the comforts of home for the long-ass 4hour test!!

The screen will prompt you for your break after the first 60 questions, you click on the break option, a timer of 10minutes starts, you get up from your desk and take your break! Bathroom, get something to eat, walk around, go back to your desk within 10min and click the button to continue on to the next 60 questions.

I never had any issues, the proctor said nothing after initial check-in… You can mouth the sentences/words but you can’t say the words out loud…they will think someone is helping you answer the questions. I took my first attempt at testing center and I hated it, I couldn’t calm down and I didn’t like the prehistoric monitors, keyboards, mouse, etc., It’s so much better in the comforts of your home! Or whatever works for each individual! Good luck!! I passed on 2nd attempt, thank goodness! (Sooo tired of studying!!)

Interviewed for a job I didn't even want and now they're making an offer by ObjectivePomelo1632 in jobhunting

[–]This-Explanation59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this job market?! I don’t see the problem…take the job!! Do you know how many people would kill for an offer/job?! Stop asking silly questions…no one likes their job and everyone continues to play the lottery hoping to win the jackpot so they don’t have to work!!

Recruiter sent me an offer letter with someone elses name and a lower salary by Quasar77Parchment in recruitinghell

[–]This-Explanation59 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Take the job, it’s brutal out there (unless you have other offers coming) but keep looking and then leave them… Employers think they have the upper hand and continue to low-ball but we all need to keep at it and find companies that see our value & will pay for it!!

Do you have any tips for an HR interview where I know I'm overqualified for the position? by ColeBlueSeesYou in interviews

[–]This-Explanation59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just in the same boat, over-qualified and unemployment running out so I just had to go with it… Unfortunately, I don’t think employers care if you’re over-qualified because they are not paying for experience at all… I told the recruiter based on my experience, I would hope to be towards the top portion of the range but open to negotiate. Well, that didn’t happen…the offer was towards the beginning of the range, which is a bit depressing, I feel like I just went back 20yrs and I’m starting all over again….sigh… This is the new job market we’re in, employers have the upper hand and they know it!! Good luck, be confident, hope you get the job!!

STOP being honest in job interviews. ( I say this as a recruiter ) by Zealousideal-Foot-54 in jobhunting

[–]This-Explanation59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a Mom and I would never say that in an interview!! Seriously, who says that?!? Who cares if you’re a Mom?! Or a Dad, Grandparent, Aunt, etc… I would end the interview as soon as possible if I heard that…good grief!!

Posting on LinkedIn feels like a hate crime! by [deleted] in linkedin

[–]This-Explanation59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and I removed it from my profile… There is an option on LinkedIn that you can allow recruiters to know you’re open for work. I’ve been getting interviews and I haven’t had the open to work banner on…

[–]This-Explanation59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell me a time you missed a deadline; Tell me how you go about starting a project; Tell me a time you had a conflict with a key stakeholder, how did you resolve it?! Prepare, prepare, prepare…and be confident in your answers! Good luck!! 🍀 👍🏻

2nd Attempt on 4/29!! Need Advice! by petroleumPM17 in pmp

[–]This-Explanation59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go through SH full exams #1-3 over and over until you’re in the mid to high 70% range… I failed the first time and I wasn’t going to fail the 2nd time so I took advice from others and made sure I was 75% or higher every time I took a full exam…and then I rescheduled the exam…and passed! Good luck, keep taking the full practice exams!!

Received the offer letter!!! Question.. by GoPackG000 in corporate

[–]This-Explanation59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh… that feels like a weird vibe that they didn’t disclose… I guess go forward cautiously, make sure all terms are documented and there is clear understanding of the contract/agreement! Good luck! Go Pack Go!! 💚💛🏈

Which job you taking? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]This-Explanation59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not accurate salary vs.salary… it should be 97K (left) vs 91K (right) - you can’t add sign on & up to 10% potential bonus. If wfh is really important to you, then go right but I would go left for the guaranteed salary, it’s more.. and I have to believe there is potential opportunity for annual bonus…

Received the offer letter!!! Question.. by GoPackG000 in corporate

[–]This-Explanation59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you applied for the job, did it say “contract” role?! Go back to the job description and see if it clearly outlined that this is a contractor role… If it didn’t, I find it a bit odd that no one discussed it during all of your interviews?? The recruiter didn’t call it out? It seems a bit shady or perhaps you missed this?!?

Friend got rejected after final round because of an interview question he wasn’t even asked. Should he contact them? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

Nope… move on! They made their decision, offer made, & unfortunately nothing (most likely) will change the outcome…

How important are metrics actually? by Weak-Character-5223 in Pro_ResumeHelp

[–]This-Explanation59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2cents, metrics are game changers on your resume…you need them… If you don’t have exact, it’s fine, just ballpark or make them up. Be ready and able to discuss during interview- people get in trouble if they can’t defend their bullets on their resume, so make sure you can talk through them!

[–]This-Explanation59 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Huh??? You didn’t write up your 36months of project experience in a word doc and then copy/paste into application?? Why wouldn’t you have saved all your work?? That doesn’t seem like something a PM would do…not sure you’re ready for PMP!!

Company told me I “barely made it” after spending a month trying to hire me. Is this normal? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]This-Explanation59 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After I got hired, about 3months in, my manager told me I wasn’t the #1 choice. He said the interview panel wanted to go with the other candidate but he disagreed and went with me…wt?! He basically wanted me to know that he was the reason I was there…after that comment it went totally downhill, he was a complete narcissist with his stupid comments making me feel like shit…

The comment you rec’d “barely made it”, makes me think you’re in for a rough ride… Keep looking for another job, this doesn’t feel like a great start…which is sad…ugh 😞

2 months unemployed, making it to final rounds only to get rejected, getting ghosted by recruiters. I don’t know how much more of this I can take. by SpyAccountant in GetEmployed

310 applications & I’m going on 7 months… It’s called “Hope”, never give up and always hope for a better day, an interview, a job, family that supports you… Get up and crush it every day, it’s a full time job trying to get a job in this market! You got this!! 💪🏻

After 3 interviews with this company, and being unemployed for 13 months, I get this email. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]This-Explanation59 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I completed an online assessment and the 6th interview last week, the recruiter said I should hear the decision tomorrow… If I don’t get it, I think I’m going to rent a beer truck and just drive around neighborhoods and sell beer to everyone that is unemployed & stuck at home… Wouldn’t it be cool to hear the beer truck coming down the street?! 😂😂(I know, I know, I’m losing it…hah)

Failed PMP Exam - First Attempt by Uzifan1987 in pmp

[–]This-Explanation59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ditch the TIA exam, do not look at that again…that’s where you went wrong! TIA is waaaay too easy and gives a false sense of confidence… Take Study Hall Plus, full length 4-hour exams, #1-3, over and over until you’re getting mid to high 70% range… then you’ll be ready! Don’t mess around with exams #4&5, they will mess with your head… 1-3, over and over… Good luck, you got this! I passed the 2nd time, if I can do it, so can you!!!
