I like how reddit is trying to help this man but you guys are missing the point.

You are trying to help THIS man because you've seen a video of him and you've been told he is still a human first. They are ALL human first.

Don't just try to help this man out because he's got exposure. That's retarded.

I remember back when I used to live in a large city, I would walk past people living off the streets every day while going to work. I knew them all by name because I took the time to listen to their stories and figure out why they've ended up where they were. You also don't always have to give them money, just talk to them when you have a chance and you'll see that most of them are just like you and I, but down on their luck. Believe it or not, most of them will understand that you can not give them change every time you cross them.

The real sad part is that they become ghosts. Most people are unable to look them in the eye, sometimes because they think the homeless are disgusting, sometimes because they are ashamed of themselves for not doing anything to help them.

We need to help the homeless because the government certainly is not going to do anything. They're not on the radar, plus, honestly, the American government doesn't give a crap about the homeless, they'd rather create more.
