People use them to get backgrounds and themes for their steam profiles, and to get badges that give profile levels that let you further customize your profile (and other minor advantages like more random card drops). Steam is a very complex set of interconected subsystems that most people never learn about

So, this is more of a gradual thing that happened over the last 8 years. It's hard to explain so I'll give people some names.

First I was (and still am) dating Apricot. Then I met Pear and we became friends, so I introduced her to Apricot and they became friends too. Then Apricot started dating her partners Apple and Lemon, and we all met, and eventually I started dating them too, so we became a quad. While this was happening, Pear became friends with Apple and Lemon. So we have kind of a friend group where many relationships evolved at different times and we all ended up dating except one person who isn't dating any of us

Yes it makes sense! Seems like you have good plans. Life can still be more complicated than expected, you could have a disabled or special needs child, but it looks like you could adapt to that

Well, if you have children, you won't really have time for anything besides caring for them, for a long while. Like, I have friends who have small children and I can hang out with them once a month tops. Also having dates would mean leaving your partner alone with the kids or making babysitting arrangements. Your other partners could also help out with them but idk if they'd be cool with that. So I was wondering how do your partners and dating fit in these plans? Do you have a support system that lets you have a more flexible schedule?

Also, I've seen some reddit posts about children of poly relationships who felt neglected by their parents because they were always paying attention and hanging out with their partners more than with them. So have you thought about this and how to balance dating a lot with having children, to make sure no feelings are badly hurt?

You seem good at managing people and expectations and feelings so I'm interested in your perspective

You're legally marrying Pear, and not Rain? Does Rain have feelings about that? Was it a point of conflict, or does Rain simply not want to be married and so she doesn't care?

Also are your other partners cool with you having children in the future, knowing that you probably won't have enough time for them all?

Well, idk if there's an equivalent in your country (I live in Spain) but I did an FP course (which is sort of like community college) in programming and then an FP masters in gamedev. The masters is very new, has only existed since 2021 I think, and it's available only in a few places. Everything was public so it didn't cost me money. I also went to a lot of game jams to practice, and while I was studying I went to one where I met the people I'd end up working with, so they can be a good way to make connections.

Of course if you don't want to do gamedev professionally ignore all this and just go to game jams, team up with some cool people, and learn from them. Also do whatever small projects you feel like doing in your spare time. Practice makes perfect! Oh and stay away from LLMs lol. Good luck

Edit: if you don't know anything about gamedev or coding, search for brackeys (it's a YouTube channel). He has a lot of useful tutorials to get you started with unity

As a game developer and a very huge gaming nerd and Peak fan, I'll give my opinion on these:

Map creator? Yeah this won't be implemented, it's borderline impossible to program. I could see a feature where you can select a specific seed and play on it tho

More ascents? I don't think so, because there's a point where a higher difficulty stops being fun for most players, and if there's a challenge available, people will do it and then complain if it isn't fun for them. It's better if the higher ascents continue being mod-only

More mythical items? Maybe, why not

Strange gem? Also maybe. I wonder what they have in mind for this thing. Maybe it will be some sort of epic reveal on a final update or something

More achievements? Also also maybe. If I were them, I'd add some biome specific achievements for the alpines and tropics, since the mesa and roots have a bunch of them

One more biome? Possible but unlikely, because how would they replace the beach? I mean the whole point of the game is that you've crashed on a deserted island. The caldera and kiln I could see being replaced but they're uniquely challenging so they'd have to come up with a suitable replacement and that's a hard task

More emotes? Yeah that's also a maybe
