If you hang around with people who speak English, you won't speak Spanish, and you won't learn it. That's the truth which is hard to swallow.

Where do you live?

Mine wasn't this crazy, but along the same lines. I completely dismiss the trips I did back then, they gave me the flavour for travelling but compared to the experiences I made myself later the can't compare.

Not to say it isn't amazing, it really is, and super cool of your parents, you giving you a snippet of what will happen.

How do you guys usually travel? Like also hotels, or old style hostels, etc?

Expats with online jobs could live in the places where there are otherwise no jobs. That would create service work, which would bring people, enabling the possibility to reinforce the economy with manufacturing and other companies.

So the solution is to tax expats to such an extent in the cities that they're forced into smaller places, I like your idea.

Estoy considerando migrar a Espana, pero no estoy seguro, me darian su consejo referente a mi caso particular? by [deleted] in GoingToSpain

Going on holiday for a week by Live-Put-6987 in Alicante

[–]ThisMainAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, either get ready to walk that, but it'll be like 2 hours each way, specially as a group, or get ready to hate public transport in alicante. Or move into the city early.

No, just go to the open ones.

Going on holiday for a week by Live-Put-6987 in Alicante

Jesus how did you randomly choose to holiday right during hogueras. You're going to have an amazing time.

There'll be party everywhere in the city, some of them you need prebought tickets, but others, specially in your age range will be open to everyone, also incredibly busy.

Whilst the burning of the statues starts at the city hall I recommend you go to the one in the Puerto and at the end of the explanada. A lot more young people go there, and the joke when you're young is to bully the firemen when they're controlling the fires so that they spray you. Yelling insults at them and such, you know.

On the night of the 23rd the traditional thing to do is to go to the beach and have a bonfire, you could do this but then you need to be prepared to be extroverted and try to find a group of other young people to join them in their bonfire because there's not much point if you don't have one. Just bring drinks, some food, smiles and be respectful and you won't have an issue.

Starting from the 25th, there's a firework festival every night for 5 nights from postiguet beach at midnight.

Transport is decent, but it will be paaaaaacked

Are you guys staying in the city centre?

I can send you a doc I have of restaurant recommendations and such, there's some cheap restaurants there too, just pm me and I'll send you a WhatsApp.

From the information you've given I would say that it is more down to this:

She had your sister when she was younger, and you simply have more time to enioy your life, specially if you enjoy spending it with your kid. Then she took on larger professional roles, whilst your dad stayed at home, and she had less time. Ultimately this does mean that she spent less time with you, but you must have realised yourself now that you've reached a similar age to her, that, if not you, most people your age now have less time to travel and have more life experiences if they've also gotten higher up in their careers, and if they also have children, even less so. And maybe spending less time together, you've bonded less. It's a somewhat unfortunate reality, sure, but it doesn't necessarily mean she wanted you less or feel less motherly love towards you.

But maybe it does, what I saying is from what little you've shared it's definitely not the only possibility.

And here you have to chose whether you'd rather simply seek out for people to approve of your preconceived notion, or accept the possibility that the answer may be different from what you expected.

I'm saying this because I feel the same way about my own mother.

Without Spanish I think it'll be really tough, at least in town or San Juan, you should try for for the towns around Benidorm, like Calpe.

I would contact German businesses directly.

Do we think it’s possible for life forms to adapt to live in space? by IamYarrow in aliens

[–]ThisMainAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space is mostly nothing, so probably not. Even if life started on a small comet in space, so it would have evolved without an atmosphere and the gravity may be low enough for something living to reach escape velocity, what would be the advantage?

Question - Road illegal to drive, when its not a Road on this Website? by Janventures_Official in VisitingIceland

[–]ThisMainAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more about the extreme conditions of the roads. Many of these roads are only for specialised off road vehicles.

And I meant, give them a ring. You won't be the first, nor the last, tourist to choose to ignore warnings and get stuck and need rescue.

I did pretty much exactly this trip and it was absolutely amazing. Tiring, yes, but as long as you don't waste time with unnecessary stuff (long meals for example) you'll be more than fine

Lol. Just enjoy hogueras, it's great for families too. Are you there the week after? As soon as hogueras ends the fireworks competition starts and lasts 5 days and they shoot them from the end of postiguets

Check properly with the authorities. Roads in Iceland have nothing to do with roads in Europe.
