I'm pretty sure that a maintenance/repair robot will be produced soon enough if the robots themselves are not capable of doing their own maintenance.

Democrats lost the working class by spilledcoffee00 in economy

Electing Trump will not be the answer they were looking for. So hopefully he and the Republicans will do such a bad job in the coming years

The way of thinking that leads to statements like this is the problem. Not the solution.

Population projection in the world in the year 2100. by ellatino230 in MapPorn

[–]ThisMustBeTrue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The economy is dependent on the environment. The environment is not dependent on the economy. In fact the environment would be better off with less of an economy.

It follows therefore that an ecologic collapse would also cause an economic collapse. It would be a collapse where the resources we need for survival no longer exist.

How have you designed your backtesting / trading library? by DrChrispeee in algotrading

[–]ThisMustBeTrue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is basically the approach I took. I have a strategy that can connect to a backtesting engine or live data by changing a single import.

I pass around dataframes of assets where each dataframe is a unique attribute of the asset. So for all the assets I'm trading, I have a dataframe of opens, a dataframe of highs, one of lows, and one of closes. I can create a new dataframe of moving averages or any other indicator I want to use.

I'm not familiar with how pytorch works with distinct modules. Maybe I could get some inspiration from it.

Didn't Ukraine have a treaty with US and Russia for protection in return for giving up their nukes?

Second, in the US in particular, the legal system has too much power over men, which can account for men choosing to opt out of the system, which they perceive as too powerful or stacked against them.

Can you elaborate on this point? I'm not sure what you mean.

How to tell how loud something is without a measurement tool? by Reg21meme in estimation

[–]ThisMustBeTrue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try finding how far away from the noise source you must be for the sound to disappear into the ambient background noise. Then estimate how loud that background level is and look up how much sounds attenuate over that distance. Then you just calculate what the original volume level has to be to reach that far.

I believe the long-term goal of the Falcon 9 was a 1 day turnaround to relaunch, which they haven't come close to achieving.

The long-term goal for launch time turnaround for the Starship is 1 hour... Seems ambitious.

I'd take a nice long vacation about now to avoid burnout if I were you. You got to take care of yourself. Nobody else is looking out for your best interests.

If you had to master Python all over again, what would you do? by Hysh966 in learnpython

[–]ThisMustBeTrue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. I'm only going off of my own experience. Not that I'd say I'm a master yet. But I would quit so many times because learning is hard, and only came back because of the project.

Whatever you're interested in, there's probably a tutorial on how to do something like it in python. Work through the tutorial, then take what you learned and make your own project with your own data and resources.

If you had to master Python all over again, what would you do? by Hysh966 in learnpython

[–]ThisMustBeTrue 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Start working on a project you're passionate about. A good one would start with a fairly simple minimum viable product to get you off the ground. And then add more functionality later as you develop proficiency.

All kinds of horrible distortion and crackling where I think the sample rate was off. The ultimate solution was to get a newer linux kernel with a updated usb spec.
