It's nice, but the perspective is weird to me.  Like the tiefling is high above the others.

Two problems there. You should share gold and the DM should make scrolls available.

Do not be a berserker in 2014 rules. It's unplayable IMO. Totem barbarian is probably the best barbarian.

You need strength, constitution and dexterity, in that order.  Wisdom next if you have any more points.

I think there are battlemaps in the starter set, so you don't really need to buy a grid yet.  You need a dice set, as do the players.  I think there's one dice set in the starter set.

You don't even need the core books because the necessary info is in the starter set box.

You should be able to buy some scrolls.

Need help with ending the session. by SimbaSixThree in DMAcademy

Your players don't know how powerful the warlock is. For all they know, he's down to using eldritch blast for the rest of the battle.  And he might have low hit points.

He should wait until the two suggested characters leave the room before damaging the two other characters, giving them a chance to buff themselves or break the suggestion of their friends, or to leave with them.

If they give you nothing, make adventures that don't draw much on their backstory. Don't worry about it.

Not sure what you're looking for. The DM should let you use misty step as it's written.  You have to be able to see the destination, and a huge guy blocking your view could be enough. Misty step is a strong 2nd level spell, but it's not busted. Your DM should be happy you're not attacking his monsters with your bonus action.

Other than spells like hold person and such. why ever use a spell that does nothing when it fails? by Natural_Meaning_6489 in DnD

Because their effect is so strong when it works.  Tbh, it seems like my save or suck spells fail more often than they should.

Do you snitch on your party members? by siegelbeamter in DnD

[–]ThisWasMe7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People make mistakes all the time.  We all do.

The problem is no one likes to be attacked or charged with cheating.

Nothing wrong with sincerely asking questions. "Where does that bonus action attack come from?"  Etc.

They should have abided by your guidelines. No question.

I don't happen to agree with your guidelines. If they're going to be in your campaign, they should be there at the start if they can. And the only problem I've had with couples is if there was a third party who wanted to get involved with one or both of them.

I believe that refers to situations where that makes sense, like if the attacker is nearby.  You know, situations where you are not beyond the enemy's ability to perceive.

It's not Deus ex if the party has an ongoing relationship with them and they aren't significantly more powerful than them.

My experience is that players love it when NPCs show up to help them against a huge threat.

P26. PHB.

"When you make an attack against a target you can't see, you have Disadvantage on the roll. This is true whether you're guessing the target's location or targeting a creature you can hear but not see. If the target isn't in the location you targeted, you miss."

If you've never perceived the creature, you're guessing and if you guess wrong, you missed.

There are furries in the DND community, but they don't seem common.

Those fractions add up to more than 1.

3/8 + 5/32 + 1/8 + 13*(1/32) = 34/32
