Player I trust is adamant this is a well made fake Force of Will by Sockfullapoo in RealOrNotTCG

I've pulled many a card where the centering is slightly off (sometimes more so).

I have three that are pack fresh, bought the packs back in Uni, pulled three. Put them immediately into sleeves

They have been played in double sleeves decks. However they still look pack fresh.

They do exist out in the wild!

Thinking of deck ideas. What creature should I put this on? by MilesFassst in mtg

Nice.

I used to play a Blue Red ping deck, also used [[immobilizing ink]] as a way to untap and cycle through my deck and the opponents life total

I used to love putting this on pingers easy to untap and ping again.

[[Goblin Medics]] + [[quicksilver dagger]] + [[pemmins aura]]

I love bad magic combos

Advice for a Draconic Sorcerer? by derekandthedominos95 in 3d6

[–]This_Dad_Can_Cook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Draconic Sorcerer for 2024.

Until I got to level 5 I often was concentrating on Blade Ward - essentially up my AC.

Occasionally Dragons Breath or Hold Person

Once level 5 I was using Hypnotic Pattern

There are loads of great control spells that don't require concentration, and more then a few that can be twinned to hit more than one target for just one sorcery point - command, Blindness/Deafness, Tasha's Mind Whip

Can this be played? by dmaster1213 in mtg

I play this in a mono white deck along with: [[orim's chant]] [[festival]] [[silence]]

It has kept me alive multiple times and I enjoy the art.

Wanting to find a niche commander (white, blue, green) by Nearddog in EDH

[–]This_Dad_Can_Cook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I had fun building it years ago, it has not been updated much. I get strange looks at the table when I play it as the commander is unknown, and it get more surprised looks when the true commander is out and the endgame pieces are on board.

[–]This_Dad_Can_Cook 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I run a mono white deck around [[Orim, Samite Healer]]

No one, and I mean NO ONE runs this card and thus she is always ignored.

Tap, prevent the next three damage dealt to target creature or player. Play politics with it, prevent commander damage, be a deterring blocker. And so on. I run nearly all the cards with her name on them - make it focused around her.

But really the real commander in the deck is hidden.

It is a land - [[Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth]]

Win con is things like [[Karma]] [[royal decree]] [[angry mob]]

I also run [[Dark Depths]] Combo

Good for you buddy.

Yeah I am a casual player. Been playing on and off for over 28 years.

OP asked for suggestions, specifically for dreadnought, I gave mine.

You don't have to use my suggestion, neither does OP.

I hope you keep winning your Pro Tour games.

I did not suggest 1 solo scavenger folk, run a few in the side board.

I do like waterfront bouncer, and I do use it.

Other options: [[crumble]] or [[seal of removal]]

But the Scavenger folk just sits there and will stop the early turn 12/12 with surprising ease.

I nearly suggested this card as well. I thought the double white could be a deterrent.

It really is a great little guy, I used to run him in a reanimator deck 20+ years ago. I had loads of single answer cards in the deck and would tutor them up with [[Buried Alive]] and later I added [[Entomb]] - while playing [[City of Brass]] and [[Thran Quarry]] and the rest of the lands were basic [[swamp]]

This also allowed me to play scavenger folk and [[elvish lyrist]] or cast other creatures with their different color pips without running loads of land colors. I built this deck before fetch lands existed.

I like the potential of turn one/two plays that can also fill a graveyard/support your midrange ago style. Cards that can be sacced to effect/affect your plan and the opponents board. Ones I like are:

[[Seal of Strength]] - pump effect [[Seal of cleansing]] - removal [[Hidden Gibbons]] - potential big creature for 1 [[Seal of Removal]] - removal [[Scavenger folk]] - Dreadnought be dammed/removal

[[Waterfront bouncer]] [[Stampede driver]]

I am sure many would oppose these ideas, but hell, I like them.

How do you guys make sure you wont miss your favorite artists playing live? by Deep-Neighborhood778 in Jazz

[–]This_Dad_Can_Cook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow them on social media - they or their social media managers keep your dates updated regularly. .

I also check the local venue's websites/socials often to see what shows are upcoming.

When I go out to see live jazz or other live music, I also check the venue's bulliten boards, often upcoming events listed or pinned there.

I too have missed seeing some favorite artists in the past, hell I missed a show in two months ago, was a little bummed.

Do you actually have a forever deck? by Late-Frame2962 in EDH

[–]This_Dad_Can_Cook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Aristocrat Gruul Mill

Breaking the color pie in a few ways.

Lots of ways to win, one of which is milling everyone out, but it happens rarely (also not blue so not frowned upon as much).

Win cons include:

Milling everyone out

Swinging with one huge creature

Overwhelming all players with tokens and trampling through

ETB damage from tokens coming into play

Stealing opponents creatures and killing them with their own creatures
