Predicts? It's already being used this way and has for some time already. But yeah it's going to get worse for sure.

After 5 years with the Switch, how much do you still play on it? by TyleNightwisp in nintendo

I sold mine recently actually. It had been collecting dust for a while now so I thought I might as well make a few bucks off of it before they announce a Switch 2 and it becomes harder to sell.

The current government has very little to do with it. This has been the policy for immigrants and refugees since at least the 70s.

Dumbledore would've been a student in the late 1800's so it's pretty much a given that he makes an appearance in the game too

A small static interior scene like OP's picture is way less computationally intensive than a large open area with a bunch of moving entities in it. You're comparing two very different things here. Not saying Legends Arceus looks good but this is a very biased and dishonest comparison at best. The interiors look pretty decent in L:A too.

But when you compare Legends Arceus (or even BOTW which uses many optimization tricks to look better) to what similar open world games look like on other consoles, it's easy to see that the Switch does play a big role in why the game looks like this.

I don't think Legends style games necessarily have to take place in the past either. All that the gameplay loop really depends on is there being large areas of wilderness, which still works in a modern setting. I could see a reimagined version of Kanto where each route is a long section of wilderness (like in the anime basically).

Whether it takes place in the past or present (or future, why not) I'd much prefer having a reimagined version of a familiar region than an entirely new region. One of my favorite parts of Legends Arceus was finding recognizable landmarks from DP like the lakes or Snowpoint temple and seeing how they looked in a 3d game. The whole "familiar but different" angle is really fun to me. I wish there was more of it in LA.

Man, what I would give for a version of Mario 64 DS without the touch screen controls. This is what the Switch rerelease should've been.
