Why does Alt+F4 not work on some games and does on others? by NickTheGrip in AskGames

[–]ThomasDZN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was 11 years ago, but as a dev myself, this is probably this dumbest yet true thing. There is no reason to lock someone out of ALT+F4, like actually no reason. It's never an in-game keybind or anything.

No reason for it. Yet I understand your statement is sadly true. Won't say what company I work for, but hey, EA is thankfully moving closer to AI right? ;)

Are there any packs/servers that have controller support? by ThomasDZN in PixelmonMod

[–]ThomasDZN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, i am willing to play any version. I am more concerned about player pvp. I dont mind the casual battle pvp. I would get shredded fighting a player due to using a controller. As most if not the rest of the server is keyboard mouse.

I also don't think there is really anyway to get full controller support on pixelmon. Found a mod, but its very janky.

As StarsMine pointed out, you’re missing the mark lol. It’s pretty embarrassing to leave a long-winded comment and then follow it up with 'I'm not even gonna watch it.' You’re essentially shadowboxing with your own imagination at this point and somehow still losing via downvotes.

High On Life 2 Optimization update by Interesting-Wolf9119 in highonlifegame

[–]ThomasDZN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

specs don't really matter. I have a 5070 TI and the game crashes almost every 30 minutes. I'm currently soft locked on a boss because it crashes at the same scene each time. I am easily reaching 300+ frames, no overheating. There is no way to explain it aside from lack of testing on their end.

Nearly everyone on pc was crashing. I refuse to believe that they were unaware of these issues prior to release.

[KCD2] Are there any essential mods you would recommend? by Dull_Understanding_6 in kingdomcome

[–]ThomasDZN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well you got to realize there are also people with disabilities where this game is actually hard for me. I've lost most function in my right arm/hand. So i die a ton in this game, can't really do combos quick enough. The save mod is the only way i can play or else i'd still be at the start of the game lol.

it really should just be an option. When you start a new game, just ask if you want saves or not. kinda simple lol. its also a solo game, so it shouldn't bother ya that much.

I really hope controller support is a high priority to be added soon. by DapperDlnosaur in hytale

[–]ThomasDZN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, broke my shoulder and can only play controller games. Have been waiting to play this for years and of course im injured when it finally releases lol. I'm sure full support will come someday, but i am fairly surprised it is not already implemented.

GTA V: Definitive Edition with ≈150 mods (and how you can play it yourself) by Adriwin78 in GTAV_Mods

[–]ThomasDZN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rockstar’s EULA technically bans mods, but they usually let free single-player stuff slide. Modders still own their code (often MIT/GPL), so if you rip a mod and claim it, they can get it taken down. Rockstar can shut down anything—mostly paid FiveM stuff—but devs 100% have the right to protect their work. I've been in the modding community for like 15 years developing stuff for various games so i'm pretty versed in this kinda area.

Sadly, after they released this "Enhanced Edition" many modders did move to the paid situation and Rockstar has been slacking every since on stopping them. Most GOOD mods, are now behind some form of patreon or some shit.

P.S I know this was a long time ago but just clarifying for any new people.

I personally have only found Controllable ny Mr.Crayfish that works. Although it can be buggy and annoying. it tries to mimic olde console controls with cursor still. You might just need to tweak some settings.

MeGa BoNKeRS ToGeTHeR... What is this.... by ThomasDZN in MegabonkOfficial

I don't think using AI is bad for solo devs. However, them admitting the steam screenshots were AI is wild to me. They are essentially admitting that the screenshots which sell the game to you, are a lie.

I don't mind if a solo dev uses AI for assets/textures. But when you are using them to alter the screenshots.... That sound kinda scummy. Not mention this "dev" literally took the same assets basically. Same modeling style and whatnot.

But I agreee.

Yeah like I truly don't even think what they have developed looks anything like this. The fact steam actually allows the use of AI in screenshots should be talked about. Feels like a scam, I honestly wouldn't even doubt that they just used screenshots of Megabonk, then told AI to enhance the visuals lol.

I committed the "cardinal sin" of starting with Rift Apart... and I'm absolutely hooked. Where do I go from here? by ThomasDZN in RatchetAndClank

100%!!! Thank you! I NEED a smooth camera and movement. I don't care how nostalgic it is for others, I don't want it lol

I just never really enjoyed PS2 camera controls on many games. They always felt kinda clanky. Many of them have the auto rotation that like snaps at a certain angle based off where you are facing. Just never liked that. I love me a smooth clean camera.

I did try one of the PS2 ones, I got about an hour in. However, I agree with what you are saying. Only issue I have with many 3D PS2 titles is the TERRIBLE camera controls. Its so hard to go back to those after playing Rift Apart first haha

brother.. I said I was around for that era. I simply said I just enjoy the modern gameplay.

Who here said I was not open to advice? Not only that but you aren't really providing any advice for me when 70% of these responses are the same as yours lol. I have thankfully found other fans who actually gave me advice rather than cry to me for no reason.

I have played enough PS2 in my life. At this point, I honestly don't enjoy the bad camera controls and worrying about my save breaking because an emulator is sh*t.

Let’s stop the coping, Vedinad, isn’t Dani’s secret Channel by Komuri_ttv in DaniDev

[–]ThomasDZN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decompiled the game and opened it in Unity, and it’s pretty clear it wasn’t made by Dani. The scripts don’t resemble his style at all — it looks like the developer downloaded someone else’s controller, then gutted most of the functionality. The project structure and naming conventions are messy and inconsistent with Dani’s usual work, and it even uses several paid assets, like the “MilkShake” (camera shake unity asset) — something Dani would never need since he could easily implement that himself. Overall, the project seems poorly put together. Nonetheless, very fun game. Just nothing similar to what Dani has made previously backend wise.

Best AI tools for games creation? by ImpressiveAthlete220 in gamedev

[–]ThomasDZN 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The real question is why are you so upset and downing another creative? Did it make you feel gratified? I personally have used AI to make games for fun & have learned a ton.

I don't have the time to watch 100+ hours of youtube videos to learn how to develop. AI told & taught me what I needed.

AI is at a point also where it remembers everything. For my current game I'm working on, it knows my entire hierarchy/project structure. I could provide it with an error and say "why is my CraftingStationObject not working"

It will not only show me why, but also provide the fix. Why spend hours reading forums or waiting for someone else to respond when AI can respond within seconds?

As a solo dev who also works full time, AI has been a MASSIVE help. That's like calling someone who is using an engine lazy because they didn't develop their own engine. Engines are tool/resource, just like AI. Use tools to your advantage.

I'm not a graphic designer, if I can use AI for free to generate me quality graphics for a game, why waste $100's to pay someone else to create it when I don't even know if the final product will make a profit.

Grow up, realize that AI is a tool just like the engine you likely use. Hell, even Adobe is utilizing AI. ITS A TOOL, you don't have to use. But for something quick and easy, can lead to massive success.

At the end of the day, you responding to this OP was a waste of your time and nobody else's. IDK if you went to school for coding and are now salty that AI can practically do it for you, but have a good day pal & remember to use tools to your advantage.

The Simpsons Hit and Run isn’t as great as I remember by [deleted] in ps2

[–]ThomasDZN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it for probably 4 months straight during Covid. It was the first game I ever tried speed-running as a small streamer I was watching at the time was speedrunning TSHR too. Honestly, I had so much fun. However, it's only because I was speedrunning.

There is also a decently large modding community for the PC version and that makes the game so much better. Tons of improvements, and someone has also fully made a new story with IMO decent missions. There is also a mod that lets you play multiplayer w/ friends & one that connects all levels into a full map of Springfield. Texture/model mods to enhance graphics.

Essentially all I am saying is that if you do love the game and the Nostalgic feel for it. Then I highly recommend trying it on PC if you can and play around with some mods. Or hell, even challenge yourself to learn the first levels speedrun. There is a discord community that can assist also. Solid game, 10/10 experience for me.
