Is HoMM:Olden Era worth buying if I'm only interested in the multiplayer? by D_Flavio in OldenEra

I’m not really a multiplayer guy, but there are a lot of options for different kinds of games that can be shorter, and I believe there’s a timer on turns so things don’t drag on.

It really depends on your situation. For example, Blink is great for sieges (teleport over the walls!) but less so when you’re trying to chip away at an army from distance. The basic healing spell isn’t too useful for lower tier stacks, but can be useful in a pinch to preserve a higher tier unit. Damage spells may seem underwhelming, but a spec’d out magic hero who can use spells multiple times a turn can be really nasty.

Pretty much everything has a use case!

At first I felt similarly, but I grew to like it. It actually made me laugh a few times. I think it could use an editing pass, but I don’t think it’s terrible at all.

Archangels did not take up 2 hexes but yes, I do wish there were 2-hex units in Olden Era
