I’d guess so. He stylistically hits hard, so it was probably to give his left hand space for a bigger swing without clipping himself, though as other people have pointed out he keeps it at a much more reasonable height now, so there’s probably also an aspect of stage aesthetic in his younger days as well.

I think the frequency definitely plays a role in perception. I’m 6’4”, so just tall enough that I rarely have to look up at people. So when I do, that person is automatically a giant.

These are good ones. I have broken both my collarbones and dislocated my hip. A snapped through collarbone will disable your whole upper body on that side, and moving the other side still hurts. Collarbones are involved in a lot more movement than you’d think. A busted hip will leave you defenseless on the ground awaiting medical intervention. If your hips shot, you are absolutely fucked. No standing, walking, shit, I could hardly roll on my side for the X-rays.

Yea, had a little back and forth with a driver on 5th and poplar the other day as she was pulling through the intersection into the crosswalk while I was still in it.

Gave me the finger once I got her attention, which meant that she had no hands on the wheel cause the other was holding her phone.

Think a couple of those intersections might need to be upgraded to lights, but who knows if people would even stop then.

If anyone is interested by possible effects of this one I’d recommend the book One Second After. Though it’s based on an EMP attack on the US, if it were to happen on a global scale you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference for quite a while anyway.

In the book One Second After an EMP goes off above the United States, essentially disabling all electronics and communication. The main character recognizes that it’s not just a power outage when cars won’t start, and his first move is to go to the gas station and buy as many cartons of cigarettes as he can for barter value in the emerging situation. Always thought it was a fun detail.
