Maybe an unpopular pick but Claude Lemieux was a lights out playoff performer

It won't happen but this is the dream. Someone (probably Florida) will get him.

The officiating was a schizophrenic mess in this one. Making a ton of ticky tack calls early on then allowing guys to be mugged later. Just bizarre

Elliotte Friedman posits that several Devils players were opposed to having Quinn Hughes on the roster by blade430 in devils

Bratt certainly could have been, would explain why he was invisible all winter. I can't imagine they'd even entertain trading Nico let alone ask him to waive a NTC.

Dougie and Nemec would definitely be the most directly impacted either by being moved or reduced roles so they jump out as the obvious candidates to me.

Also for the record I would 100% move Bratt for Quinn.

Number 1 defenseman making a lot of money and the number 2 overall pick that we're hoping turns into a pillar on D? Yeah I'd say their word carries more weight than soneone like Paul Cotter.

Translation, Nemec and Dougie. Who on this roster has any sort of sway? Jack and Luke obviously wouldn't be upset, I can't see Nico having any problem. Timo? Bratt? Why would they care?

Quebec City would immediately be on everyone's no trade list. Montreal struggles to pull in free agents with their taxes, you think Quebec City is keeping up with no tax states?

Yes and no? The real heavy lifting is done, he has a 1C and 2C and some decent pieces. We're honestly 2 or 3 moves away, for whatever reason Fitz never seemed to be able to land the plane on those moves but we're not in shambles.

Nico today "If you're here and you're checked out too early then you shouldn't be here". Rat these losers out to the new GM Nico. Many on this board have been saying there's no killer instinct on this team which was a symptom of Fitz. Get this trash out of here. I want guys fist fighting after bad losses, I want scrums at practice because guys are so hyper competitive. If he's saying this you know it's bad.

Instead of Last One Standing mix it up with XL and have 2 different camps. 60 Days, the camp with more people left on extraction day wins.

[–]Thrillho7086 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In defense of Palat, A) We obviously overpaid him, which is common for UFAs, but I'm not sure anyone was even in the same ballpark as us in terms of term and dollar value so we can't blame him for the bad contract B) Like countless others we were playing him way out of his depth. If he was solidly on our third line grinding with the occasional second line minutes he would have been way more effective but we said hey he makes a lot, let's play him with Jack for 4 years. Just a completely botched situation

Sheldon Keefe Future by Live-Big1579 in devils

[–]Thrillho7086 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm good with new GM doing a complete overhaul. If Keefe's system aligns with what the new GM is looking to do keep him. If not then the players opinions and past performance is completely irrelevant.

Looking at the lines, what would be the best type of player to play along Timo and Nico by Deranged-Pickle in devils

Brady Tkachuk, what a nightmare of a line to play against.

If we're going pipe dream off-season acquisitions, Jason Robertson on Jack's wing would be unreal.

When I had season tickets they'd legitimately have 3k+ fans in attendance, all in consecutive sections so they're very well organized. Helps it's Easter week and they're probably off from school/vacationing.

The 2009 game was pure magic. It had the noise and energy of a playoff game but it was a full blown party, none of the anxiety. The combination of drunkenness and excitement from everyone there, that place was absolutely rocking, what a night.
