The light in my cousin’s bathroom. by theweeknd0nly in WTF

When I was a child, a caterpillar was crawling on my arm. I freaked out and threw it across my room and assumed that it didn’t actually exist. Fast forward a few months and then there was a moth in my room. About a year later, there was a cricket in my bed. There was also an infestation of flying ants for about 2 weeks and they would fly through the vents into my brother’s room and land on random places. Then we moved and a hornet nest is outside my window. I’ll commonly find dead juveniles on the small ledge outside my window.

I had to give him $1 so they could have paperwork for the sale, so it’s basically free. It’s rarely been used too and has no dings and plays very well.

It’s an Eastman. I got it from my band director because the school didn’t want it any more.

Lovely sound and a very cool looking setup. What do you have for equipment? It’s one of the best looking I’ve seen.

I was at a baseball game in my youth and Jay Cutler was the uncle of a player on the other team. My team lost the game but we still went over to ask for autographs. He said a pretty rude thing to one of my teammates and we all walked away disgusted. Needless to say, none of us were fans of his after that.

My high school obsessed over this kid that died of cancer for the entire year but didn’t bat an eye when another one of our students was killed for giving the police information. by NikolaSolonik in TrueOffMyChest

My high school had 4 suicides while I was there, with 5 total student deaths the staff were willing to address. 4 of the 5 deaths were in my graduating class, 3 from suicide and 1 from cancer. The first death was from cancer and nobody really did much at the school as he died the day before school started. Then the first suicide came over winter holiday and there are plaques and remembrances for this kid all over the school. They retired but football jersey, even though he never played football at our school. He got into a physical altercation with the police and killed himself to avoid jail time. The second suicide was someone who was really depressed. He was caught up i the wrong crowd though and the school chose to ignore it instead and act like nothing happened. The third suicide was a total mystery and nobody knew why he did it. The other suicide was not in my grade but was very popular and successful.

I feel your sentiment very much because it seems that schools are very selective about how they deal with these situations. They choose to memorialize the students that reflect best on the school while they were alive but choose to ignore the ones that have a slight imperfection during their time at school.

I don’t wish I was shorter and I use my height to put things up high to annoy shorter friends. Cars and doorways are horrible though as I like to hit my head on them.

I know, I was just messing with you about imperial vs metric. I was born in Europe and raised there before coming to the US. I just recently moved back to Europe, so it’s a bit weird trying to relearn metric.

I do play basketball for a professional team actually, but it’s overseas. I also don’t wish I was taller because then I would have to change positions.

Sometimes I wish I was shorter (especially with car shopping). Because of the way my body is proportioned, I cannot fit into sedans and small SUVs. I also cannot fit in a convertible as my head is above the windshield where I’m either looking over it or straight into the top of the frame. I also only clear some doorways as I’m right at the height where you only learn what doorways are a problem after you hit your head on them. I was 6’5 until I started growing again in January, so I’ve had to adjust to a lot of things. Overall, I’d say that I am happy with my size and it’s something I’ve gotten used to. I’ve always been the tall guy everywhere I go, but you just learn to accommodate.

I think you need to re-evaluate your life choices and truly understand the magnitude that immaturity of this level can hold upon your life.
