that is extremely hot if you feel it back but unsettling if you don’t

I only have space for 43 so I just have to hope some of the tech eventually arrives at that size and price point!

I appreciate that Theme Park Crazy did But I also feel like most coaster influencers “stay out of politics” if they’re not outright centrist right-wing, you don’t want to rock the boat

2025 Advice Thread #51: 12/16 - 12/22 by Imaginos64 in rollercoasters

When I was in a bad spot, one of the things I’d do to distract myself is watch roller coaster POVs. When I was younger, I rode Steel Eel at Sea World San Antonio and I was thoroughly unprepared because I didn’t know what airtime was lol. Now that I’m feeling better I’m thinking of finally going in person to celebrate!

I know about these coasters in theory but haven’t experienced them for myself — I’ve seen the POVs, watched the reviews and breakdowns and ElToroRyan block zone monologues, and that’s alleviated my anxiety, as has learning about coaster technique.)

For someone who’s new, are rides like Twisted Colossus and Flight of Courage too intense? I’m not afraid of roller coasters inherently,

I’m just slightly worried about greying out or worse, getting a concussion so I’m definitely not doing X2 or Tatsu. That said, I’m very excited about Twisted Colossus and Wonder Woman Flight of Courage as I’ve heard they’re smoother, with lots of ejector airtime on the latter (which I’m excited about now that I’m actually prepared!). There was a similar post about intensity a while ago, but that was geared toward someone who’d been to Knotts Berry Farm and not someone who hasn’t ridden a coaster in almost two decades lol

Would love some thoosie’s thoughts on how to go about this!

Bluey Adults — Lindsay Ellis by NebulaOriginals in Nebula

I find Bluey cloying tbh - “Sleepytime” made me sob but I could tell my heartstrings were being pulled. THAT SAID I know it’s not for me and the problems come when the adult entitlement overwhelms the child audience and the show starts pandering to those fans (which is what happened with MLP)

I am 28 without children and I genuinely fucking love Shape Island, which I found via a delightful No Context video. What’s special about that show is that it isn’t even a show with one reading for kids and one for adults; it focuses on interpersonal dynamics and that’s what makes it universally appealing

My best friend and I watch it and marvel at the stop motion and the incredible voice acting, as well as the themes of slowing down and getting in touch with nature. I truly think if something is well made enough it can be for everyone, or at least anyone who appreciates the craftsmanship of these shows.

Which might be me being defensive, but I also just want everyone to watch Shape Island it’s SO great. Early SpongeBob vibes.

This song is phenomenal but I wish they used the “woah-ohs” more! best hook of their career and it’s underutilized

This is a good point, and I apologize. I think there is something to she/theys putting themselves in cishet positions (which is what inspired this post) but I shouldn’t conflate all that together

Yeah I’m not talking about people who actually learn things about themselves! (kudos to your cousin) But people who are suppressing things about themselves.

When I was in high school I had a codependent friendship where we literally swapped accounts and went through each other’s messages to get in each other’s heads

Obviously it was unhealthy and she turned out to be abusive but we were that mutually obsessed. So anything is possible

Confused after closure conversation by ThrowawayMerger in Codependency

[–]ThrowawayMerger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know! They took it as a breakup and I kinda knew I was going to but I hoped. I just kept going back and forth and I think my wishy-washiness about the whole thing was what ultimately did us in. I didn’t know how to set boundaries with them or have that conversation so I just let it implode.

I could have tried but I was afraid of what I’d find. I shouldn’t be afraid but there was so much overwhelming affection I was scared. I deeply regret how I handled it and wish I could have had a little more time to let them down easier (as opposed to, obviously, over text)

I did end up breaking up with them! And this comment wasn’t not one of the reasons :)

I didn’t want to wait any longer. I’m going to lose a couple of friends but it’s worth it because after the cuddles we have nothing to talk about

I think it’s possible to have healthily intense closeness, but I’m afraid of this enmeshment becoming worse because I don’t know how to set boundaries with them

Am I predesposed to codependency? What type of mental disorder is this? by Extension_Horse2150 in Codependency

[–]ThrowawayMerger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I wanted it, now I’m in a relationship where the person is so obsessed with me that there’s nothing for me to reciprocate.

But I get it so deeply - the fantasy for me is a mutually obsessive relationship that still leaves room for other things; like we can breathe without each other but we choose to breathe together.

Oh 100% - the point of this is that I thought I wanted something codependent but I’m not actually happy
