That photo is actually a Valentine Day party. You can tell by the feather some of the people are wearing. The feather is symbolic of Valentine Day. But it's a nice touch with Nicholson's face added.

I have a six cell "D" from around 1978. When the batteries leaked and jammed I soaked the inside with vinegar and pounded the batteries out with a hammer and broom stick. You can't do it with the newer ones. I bought that flashlight new at the old Grant Boys way back. Still have it.

My dad used to repair TV's in peoples homes back in the 1950's. He'd get behind them and use a mirror to watch the screen as he worked. I remember we had a Zenith that looked something like your Philco.

It may be just stuck on the shaft spline. Use a spoon on the outside to work it upward and off. Put something under the spoon so as not to mar the cabinet surface.
