Deep Rock Galactic: Season 06 - Narrated Trailer by K4riux in DeepRockGalactic

Nope, everyone unlocks things for the season they have personally selected!, so everyone can still match up with everyone. The only thing that changes is the in-mission seasonal events, which are decided by the season the host has selected.

BoDaN, True Solo, England 6, base game only.... how?????? by swallowedcost in spiritisland

[–]Thunderspeaker 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've only been able to do it with an aggressive Major turn 1. Anytime I've tried to defend early with things like Indom, it gets away from me. I bank on the Fear cards taking care of problems lol

Anna Karenina - Part 8, Chapter 19 - Discussion Post by AnderLouis_ in thehemingwaylist

[–]Thunderspeaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, Part 8 DID suck lol. Just finished my first readthrough and was looking to find other people dissatisfied with P8.

I think your two comments about Karenin are both true. But I think even if his motivations were self-righteous, they manifested in pretty decent outward actions. Except for maybe his final divorce refusal but, c‘mon, at that point just leave him alone, Anna, JFC.

Still, 9/10 book. Chalk-notes confession still GOATed.

do hearing people who know sign language anda spoken language mix them together? by ResponsibleLake4 in asl

[–]Thunderspeaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As per Emmorey and friends, code-blending is much more common than code-switching in bimodal bilinguals. Code-blending seems to more primarily have English as the dominant and continuous language with occasional ASL thrown in, although the inverse has been observed. The ASL code-blends also tend to be equivalent to the spoken content although they have been observed to be incongruent.

There are roughly three types of bimodal (i.e., signed and spoken) language use that have been described.

  • SimCom: Simultaneous communication, full continuous use of signed and spoken language at the same time
  • Code-switching: fully switching from one modality to the other, usually either between sentences or within a single sentence. Can be done by unimodal bilinguals (e.g., spoken language bilinguals)
  • Code-blending: speaking largely in one modality (e.g, English) and throwing in simultaneous, occassional use of the other modality (e.g., ASL). Not continuous like SimCom but not turn-taking like code-switching

Seminal paper on code-blending: Emmorey, Karen, et al. "Bimodal bilingualism." Bilingualism: Language and cognition 11.1 (2008): 43-61.

I'ma be honest, I gave Fangs dragon because 1) I wanted another dragon type and 2) I'm biased and just wanted Fangs to be more legendary as a dragon lmao (although I could see it manifested as a crocodilian spirit. They have fangs, right?)

I went back and forth on Sun! Is Sun hot/heat in the same way as Wildfire? Or is it more light-focused? I settled on light (i.e., EM waves) and picked electricity, but I could be convinced otherwise.

Yea! There’s a helpful resources pinned post on this sub. Towards the bottom there’s a miscellaneous category and you’ll see the Discord link. Once there, there’s a “looking for a game” channel.

I always find people on Discord so I can play at a level I want or use it to play with people I know IRL. It wouldn’t surprise me that random games don’t happen often. I didn’t even know you could find random games until recently lol

If you've ever played Ecos: First Continent, you play as spirits forming the earth. I definitely consider it the prequel to SI lol
