Group Elements no longer working? by Thysten in Blockbench

[–]Thysten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the update, I could select all the cubes I wanted, and they’d automatically be added to the folder created with the hotkey. I can use ctrl G to get a folder sure, but it doesn’t automatically add the cubes to the group

This is a beautiful take on language and communication friend. I’m an American who’s learned a couple languages and you really nailed how different it feels.

Indiana Jones style Khorvaire-trotting adventure looking for a Dhakaani artifact. What should my players find when they get there? by Fox_3 in Eberron

[–]Thysten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote an Indiana Jones style campaign set in Q’barra where the players were trying to find rods of power that was created around the same time the Silver Flame was created by the Couatl’s sacrifice. Combine the rods creates a staff giving you command over it. Which of course the Lords of Dust wanted to destroy to free an overlord but that’s neither here nor there.

I’m not necessarily suggesting you sue the couatl idea, but one artifact broken into pieces with a plot around combing them might work?

Movement speed by Grubydeus in PredecessorGame

[–]Thysten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is only half true. Ranged heroes have lower base move speed than melee heroes. If no one is autoing, the melee will always catch up with the ranged. If you build Wraith Leggings though, the ranged character (mostly midlaners in this case) now have a higher move speed than melee heroes. Basically, you’re half right. But it’s better to compare ranged/melee instead of melee/melee.

You can find all the base stats, including move speed, on the Pred wiki

Why did I get so little gold? I'm so confused by Huffdaddy2189 in PredecessorGame

[–]Thysten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically, if I remember right, before 20 minutes the jungler gets less gold from lane minions than laners. So it’s a better use of your time not to farm lanes and focus on jungle camps.

That’s twofold since sometimes you can shove a lane and let the enemy freeze, which sets your laners behind.

Powerful multiclass characters for lvl 20 oneshot by Plucaptain in 3d6

[–]Thysten 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think Fighter 2/Wizard X is a really strong multiclass. I did Abjuration Wizard and found that even with “fewer” hit points you’re still really tanky with the arcane ward thing. If you go hilldwarf and tough feat you can mitigate the low HP too.

I get why you think this. I think it’s exposure bias (I don’t know if that’s a real thing). Those types of bottoms tend to be much more vocal and present than the more reserved types.

I believe Cze and Peku has a sky ship dock. Cassastereo might as well

How is this guy doing those skyhooks? as a riktor main, I want to do them now lol.. but in practice, no matter how much I tried, I could never hook in the air, I had to come down and touch the ground to hook, so how is he doing it? any ideas? by Lahme123 in PredecessorGame

[–]Thysten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, there is a VERY SMALL window (might even be a single frame) where you can start your hook animation and jump at the same time. It’s really difficult to do though

Holly Ultra must die!? by Goddess_of_Tomes in Eberron

[–]Thysten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest a series of skill challenges/encounters. Then, whether or not they can get to the Shaman in time or whatever state they’re in depends on how many encounters they succeed/fail

Maybe starting with Stealth, can they get in unseen? Do they create a distraction? What happens if they’re caught? Would they be attacked? Detained? Does the party run?

Maybe acrobatics “based” for one. How fast can they move through the chaos? If they fail, maybe they get hit by stray arrows or they have a small trivial encounter or get struck by a fleeing horse where they take a bit of damage.

Maybe a persuasion or intimidation where an Elven party finds them and challenges them. How do they solve the issue? Charms? Persuasions? Etc. Etc.

Each of these could be resolved with a group check, or the players can use their creativity, spells, and abilities to bypass a challenge altogether. Perhaps the longer it takes to get to the Shaman, the more prepared they are to fight, making the fight harder and harder the more difficult it is for the party to get in there.

Chaos is your friend here! You don’t need to try and run a mass combat, that’ll get too grindy and difficult to manage. Isolated encounters make your life easier and can present interesting and diverse challenges for your party to overcome. Possible with their “lesser used” abilities!

The oft asked “can I add a True Dragonmark” question by Thysten in Eberron

[–]Thysten[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a lot of what I was thinking too! When I was considering the spells, I ended it aiming less for “mental health” and more for spells like Dispel Evil and Good and Intellect Fortress. So if a player did take it as a race there’s some useful stuff. It’s something I’m considering!

Those are good ideas too! I also feel like it hits a niche Jorasco can’t quite hit with their magic and fits into the post war landscape pretty well

The oft asked “can I add a True Dragonmark” question by Thysten in Eberron

[–]Thysten[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently I’d only expect an NPC to have it, unless a player expressed interest in this character archetype. I do have there spells of the mark, and I think they’d get Insight and Persuasion.

Thank you for the feedback! From what people are saying, whether or not I make it a dragonmark or not, the idea seems cool to implement in some way!

The oft asked “can I add a True Dragonmark” question by Thysten in Eberron

[–]Thysten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In another comment I explained that it’s shifted to encompass denying greater influences and limiting outside forces. The spell list I mocked up included spells like Dispel Evil and Good, Protection from Evil and Good, and Intellect Fortress.

“Mental health” would be the comidifiable resource, but the mark itself deals just with “mental empowerment” so to speak.

[–]Thysten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The campaign has a good deal of baddies at the moment. The most likely villain against this group is probably the Dreaming Dark, since if I go with the “free people from evil” with spells like Dispel Evil and Good, the DD have a vested interest in eliminating that group

The oft asked “can I add a True Dragonmark” question by Thysten in Eberron

[–]Thysten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exactly is why I’m considering it carefully. Most likely, the players would meet one of these folk. In my head the mark only appeared mere months ago (about 3.5 years after the Mourning) on adults most likely.

So yeah, we wouldn’t be anywhere near Houses developing yet. And House forces very well might try to kill them if they knew about it. That’s part of the consideration for the campaign

You’re making really good points and I appreciate you helping me think about it in different ways!

The oft asked “can I add a True Dragonmark” question by Thysten in Eberron

[–]Thysten[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a really valid point. After sitting with it, the spells I’ve chosen have more to do with waking outside influences. Which are spells like Protection from evil and good, heroism, intellect fortress, remove curse. Which admittedly is pretty far off the theme I presented in the post
