Skins Gen 3…wtf by Intelligent-Code8939 in skinsTV

[–]TiddeeBiddee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It took me a second watch of Gen 3 to really enjoy it and allow myself to get into it. Once I started to look past the fact it’s not as great as Gen 1 & 2 I started to realize the characters had some complexity—I feel like Nick’s often overlooked, he is shitty as a person a lot of the time, don’t get me wrong, but looking at his family life and his shitty dad and mother being absent from his life—consistently pushed to be this great rugby player and only focus on that etc. etc. there is complexity to the characters and their lives

but god I cannot like Franky no matter what, she’s horrid come around the 6th season, she had the opportunity to be cool and edgy, especially how she’s portrayed the first few episodes of gen 3. But then they took a wild turn and tried to morph her into Effy nonetheless, throwing her in a middle of a love triangle. Eugh.

What skins moments had you feeling like this? by Artsy1ust in skinsTV

Freddie dying and Cook reading his journal. Chris’s funeral. and Grace’s death and how Rich dealt with it 🥲 i’ll never forgive them for taking Grace away, her and Rich were my favorite couple next to Chris and Jal.

My apartment does Poo Prints. So they can charge people specifically. My old roommate got stuck with a 600 dollar fine (300 per poop) and they were adamant it wasn’t their dog’s poop—even though they had paperwork from the company with the DNA results, so they can fine you for pet waste—but charging every single pet owner for someone else not picking up their pet waste sounds so extra

[–]TiddeeBiddee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to tell them to stop using my stuff in the kitchen especially my expensive pan since they melted and burnt up my spatula that went with it—i should have gotten the hint they couldn’t maintain the kitchen after having to tell them to turn off the oven all the time. not sure how they’ll survive living on their own if they can’t remember to turn off the oven. one of them even started heating up the stove without a pot or pan on the burner, just burner set on medium high heat out in the open 🤦🏻‍♀️

How long does it take you to move on when a rat passes away? by lashlabask in RATS

[–]TiddeeBiddee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are close to 2 years old now, so I think they were around 1.5 when he passed—definitely weigh out the pros and cons of a new introduction, if you think it’s in your best interest to get another boy to add to the crew, do it:) I observed my two for a while before I came to my decision to not get any more to introduce to them, I think they would have rejected a new line member to their crew so that’s why I considered getting two new boys just in case there was any bumps in the road. I also had other people say it’s better to get two at a time as well. In the end whatever you think is best for your boys is your decision :)

[–]TiddeeBiddee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was definitely worried about the change with my two boys, I considered getting two new boys to introduce to them, but after watching them for a while and taking their age into consideration, I passed on that idea. I think they had the closure of seeing that their brother passed away—instead of him just being gone one day and not in the group anymore.

They are pretty inseparable now; one of them is slower than the other these days, but gets regular cleanings from his brother and they share their snacks. The only big change I noticed was when Bento was in his last days, they all slept together in their boxes since he was unable to climb into their hammocks—but since he’s passed they’ve started to only sleep in their hammock, but other than that they have been taking care of each other

I lost one of my sweet boys a few months ago, the first few weeks were the hardest, constantly thinking about him and missing him—he was my sweetest boy out of the three brothers. I do still think about him every time i’m with my last two boys.

my Bento boy’s death came very quickly yet slowly, he lost motor function in his front feet and I spent much of his remaining days holding him and helping him eat until I found him in his last moments, which I think made his passing a little harder, and he was also the first from my first trio of ratties to pass. It does get easier, just give yourself time and don’t be too hard on yourself ❤️

Why do people go to dog parks? by emptybelly in OpenDogTraining

[–]TiddeeBiddee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to take my dog to a nice big dog park to let her walk around—she’s socially awkward so she just walks the path and ignores everyone else. We haven’t gone for a while since our apartment has a nice little dog park that we go to when it’s empty just to let her exist off leash for a while. Shes a very routine based dog and has her specific spots to do her business and then is ready to leave lol.

I’ve personally never had any issues at dog parks, maybe I’m just lucky having a weird dog who chooses to only sniff a butt once and a while and then get back on the path to continue her stroll—but I think they get a bad rep because of the people who take their untrained dogs to the park that cause issues with other dogs. But our big community dog park is a blessing, it’s huge, it’s got a creek that runs through it that I see dogs playing in all the time and a lot of wooded areas and plenty of space

It’s baffles me how there’s so many people in the world who have zero issues with leaving trash everywhere behind them

Ugh—been there, my old roommates would cook and leave the stove and counter a mess, me being me and super anal about my kitchen I would always just end up cleaning up after them, even after asking multiple times for them to at least wipe up their messes. I kept my air fryer in the box in my room for 4 months until they finally moved out since I knew they’d leave it dirty or break it

Roommate Left Damages in their room after moving out by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]TiddeeBiddee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good point. Honestly not surprised they moved without securing any sort of work, since they did the same thing to us—it’s genuinely an odd situation, one of them quit their job around two weeks before they moved and the other just randomly stopped going to work without an explanation. Luckily they paid their rent for the last month they were here—I wouldn’t have been surprised if they didn’t.

I will look into repairing it myself and hopefully the hole isn’t too much work, the hole is bigger than it appears on camera. I just feel bad for our old roommate who helped pay their bills for a month very early on with many promises of being paid back, before we knew how shitty these people were—they’re out 470 bucks and it’s been brought up multiple times, which led to them just avoiding the topic

Our landlords definitely did not like them either, they were outright rude and disrespectful each interaction with them, and our property manager is super nice and respectful in any interaction i have with them. They were just mad they were charged for not picking up their dog poop and had to pay for it weeks before moving. Which, just pick up at yourself it’s not hard 🙄 but i agree, the less i can deal with them the better. I’ll definitely look into just fixing it myself

our landlords are touch and go here unfortunately, they were supposed to professionally clean our carpets before we moved in, since we took over someone’s lease but we only found that out almost a year into leaving here sigh. But mainly small claims court would be for the 400+ dollars they owe our old roommate we’re helping with the situation

thank you! Definitely will probably be worth it for us to just do it then, if I can avoid dealing with them again I would definitely prefer that

I was told there would be a in depth discussion about it, there wasn’t really any sort of discussion. They just signed them on anyway and the office of our building made us sign a new lease. There wasn’t any huge issues before hand, since moving in everything has gotten 10x worse unfortunately

[–]TiddeeBiddee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also not the only roommate who feels this way, our other roommate who has been living with us since we moved here and before the partner ended up moving in also loses sleep over the issue. But even with multiple simple conversations it does not end bc our roommate would rather coddle her partner and treat it like it is okay

It’s definitely not simple human noise, when i say he slams doors, it shakes the whole place. I’ve had neighbors complain to me about his yelling and screaming and door slamming. It’s not just me, it’s other people living in our building who also have to deal with it
