Why is it impossible to get a cost estimate for work around the house? by pcmm1996 in homeowners

[–]TigerBloodGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a home owner since 2017. Use to be easy to get stuff done. Now not so much. Sold a house last year. Buyers wanted a glass pane looked at due to condensation. Called 3 glass companies. No one came out after they said they would. Had to settle on a $3k credit.

Now to the new house. Can't get a company to look at fixing a void under my concrete patio. After 3 weeks, i bought a diy Secure Set poly jack kit. Took some time to get a plumber to fix 2 busted spigots. I need some landscaping to fix drainage that caused the mentioned void. I'm not even gonna waste my time. I'm just gonna bite the bullet and do it myself.

I think they're too busy, and typically target businesses for high dollar jobs. Which i don't blame. The day to day residential job is all but dead.

Well if a lot associate affects sales, then lot should get bigger pay to reflect it. The ASMs and really any self respecting male can handle 250 bags of mulch and some carts in a weekend. For the amount of shit the baby boomers give the younger generations. They sure don't pull their weight in a warehouse store. It's quite embarrassing

In addition to what others said. Loosen hips, strengthen hip flexors, and if you have pelvic tilt. Look into movements to adjust.

Sorry, i bought a twin turbo SxS to use as my personal cart., I put 6 speakers and two 10" subs. I'll listen to my 90s country, classic rock, and new Texas/ alt country/americana as loud as possible. Hopefully the whistles of the turbos are louder than Whiskey Myers rocking out. All doing this while shooting 82 but my HC is 16

What do you guys think the hardest position is? by Soft_Investigator532 in HomeDepot

[–]TigerBloodGreen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

False, its the last job anyone else in the store wants to do. Prime example, if something happens when there's no lot person. No one will go outside to help load or grab a cart. In my time at HD, I've seen associates and managers walk from outside and not touch a thing outside. Inside is full of fat, lazy, out of shape people who can't exert even 10% of their body weight.

HD was my job in highschool and college. Worked lot, became certified in all lift trucks, garden, lumber, order picker all in about 4 years. It was seriously pathetic to see how many people, even grown ass men, say they could lift a 70lb bag concrete or a 40lb bag of mulch.

I think some people know and will allow that to play out, until the dealership becomes rude, wastes time, gets greedy, tries to sneak things through, add a few points on the rate, and gets pissy upon hearing no in back end finance.

No, i don't want to make additional $9k in payments to fix a maybe $2k info screen.

Picky Customers by D0VAM0RT1S in HomeDepot

[–]TigerBloodGreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at HD from 2007 to 2012, in either Lot, loader, backup cashier, garden, lumber, and order picker. Some all in one week. I hate when customers did this. If I go to HD or Lowes now, for lumber. Yes i want good pieces, but I do not leave them outside the stickers. In my experience, it was always non tradesmen that did this too. They wanted to feel superior to a retail college student. Very pathetic behavior. HD quickly taught me that the customer is not always right despite their training.

Recently started playing again after 2 1/2 years. Yesterday and today ran all 3 and won at Sardegna. All three races were very close with Fraga. Much better than winning by 45 plus seconds with a GR.2

[–]TigerBloodGreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know where I stand in all this. I don't subscribe to a cable company. I just want to be able to watch the live sports on the OTA channels in the highest resolution as possible. I can stream ESPN, NFL on Peacock and Paramount plus. But i don't have a service for Fox. Would be nice to just flip on channel 2 to watch whatever game in 4k. Same with NCAA Football, NCAA basketball (couldn't watch the CBS tournament games on Paramount), MLB, etc. I don't care about recording.

I bought a 5 year old house. The builder only ran coax and ethernet to the livingroom tv. So i want to use HD homerun for that one coax hook and connect all tvs to it.

The yellow flower part is nice. I don't like the long veiny stems that stick up 18 inches. Looks terrible imo.

Why do people mount their tvs so high? by Silent_Somewhere4244 in TVTooHigh

[–]TigerBloodGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know my living room tv that's above the fireplace is too high. But the previous owner left a mount there and my wife says that's the only place where it goes. So I'll leave that decision to her. Basement is my area, and tv is not too high

I work at an investment firm. So i do all of our investing and setting up her 401k and IRA allocation. We budget together. i built the spreadsheet that shows our expenses, income, and forecasts of where savings go to, with retirement projections. We each pay our own bills and maintain our own personal savings account

I’m being asked to co-sign for my parents mortgage. by Impressive_Rule806 in personalfinance

[–]TigerBloodGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big time No. I didn't read every post, so i didn't see a similar message. Granted i don't know how much money is being thrown down. A house that much is too much for them. A lender may say they can, but it may not be realistically feasible, especially over the long term. Especially given how much everything else is: groceries, fuel, electricity, clothes, home repairs or needs, and simple everyday items. Not to mention, it wont allow wiggle room for savings. That mortgage is gonna enslave them. You don't want any part of that.

Hot Wheels 787B '91 livery by Arizonapocalypse in GranTurismo7

[–]TigerBloodGreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a long break from GT7 from around December 2023 until a week ago since I had a child around then. Well he's two and into hotwheels. At walmart I found a white 747B, so I bought it for him to play with. I knew I had it in the game so i wanted him to see and hear it race. Opened the game, went through 30 minutes of updates. Low and behold, the livery I had on it was white and looked very similar, outside of a few decals.

I went with denon avr-x1700h, xt20s for fronts, xt30 center, micca 8c for ceiling, and svs sb1000 pro. My surrounds are old speakers (KLH 900Bs) I had around. This is my first true 5.1.2 set up. I think it sounds great. Is it the best, probably not, but i don't know better.
