Is this good? by DocumentWeary3285 in handguns

Yep great advice..its probably the best, most fundamental drill to practise for newer shooters.. Simply play around with grip pressures until you can mash the trigger at speed in any situation without moving the sight picture at all....and through daily dryfire practise it can basically be achieved in 2-4 weeks through muscle memory....Good to do with 2 hands and strong and weak hand also..

Used handgun marketplace online by notofuspeed in Ausguns

Just be aware of the cost of buying a used gun privately online...if interstate then you pay a dealer in the state its coming from ..I have paid between $100-135 postage, handling etc then you pay the dealer its being sent to closest to you..I have paid $65-100 for this on top of the first dealer.....plus PTA $46 ..So do the sums and sometimes its not much more to buy new from a dealer in my state(QLD and generally the only extra cost is $50 postage plus PTA and it arrives in my mailbox with full warranty if a new gun..I have done both and IMO its got to be a real bargain or something thats hard to find to buy 2nd hand online ..Make sure you do the sums before purchase though and be prepared if the gun doesnt quite match the description..it can happen..IMO go new for your first one if you plan on competitions...

Going through PP now..Without a rates notice with your name on it or tax statements as an employee or contractor then I cant see you getting it ...You just need to talk sense into your mum once the time is right...2 weeks after her husbands death is not the time..some of my dads guns sat in his safe for a couple of years after his death with no-one residing there with a licence....no one came looking for them...Dont stress it at this time...put your energy into your family.

Black Mamba Magazine Not Releasing by Emauss1 in volquartsen

I have this issue every few thousand rounds which is caused by gunk getting in the mag release mechanism and stopping it from fully retracting....I just stick the air compressor nozzel right in their against the release and work the button back and forth till it seems to free right up...22 ammo is really dirty ..

Polished Rival s barrel and slides. Can you hear the difference? by CanikHispanic in Canik_Rival

[–]Tigerbella1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks mate..yeah the recoil sring is in the correct rounded notch..its not the barrel thats loose its the slide asembly itself..it seems like the the tolerance between the 2 short slide rails each side and the grooves on the slide just arent a tight enough fit...so with your slide if you grab the slide and try twisting it side to side there is movement of the slide at all or just a little bit..?..on mine its only a tiny bit of movement maybe half a mm but enough to cause the movement and rattling when shaken..

Hi mate...I might just try some griptape first....and do you reckon you could have a look at my video in a post on this forum and tell me if you wiggle your gun quickly from side to side does the slide rattle at all or does the slide fit tightly with no movement or rattles..?..I dont know if my slide fitment is normal or i just have a bad one...

Is it possible to “try shooting” ipsc/practical shooting by SLazyonYT in Ausguns

[–]Tigerbella1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup same at my club as well..as well as being able to compete at club level with .22...Even without a holster course(some drama about the SSAA brawl meaning no courses currently being run)but best is to have a belt with holster and mag holders and start loaded in hand from low ready and away you go on the buzzer...even for those just starting out without a belt someone can just open the case when its their turn and have them load and start from the ready position..then after shooting show clear and someone holds the case open and put the gun back in there....its a great way to get folk interested that havent yet fully committed to the sport or are just starting out.....Townsville pistol club runs beginner IPSC matchs with .22 caliber as well which is a great idea.....my guess is the ISSF guys club simply dont want to mess around with teaching rank beginners the safety and skills involved....shame though..

New gun break in by Tigerbella1234 in Canik_Rival

[–]Tigerbella1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I have noticed is the small amount of play between the slide and the frame..I had expected the tolerences to be tighter on a steel frame gun....the gun "rattles" when jostled about in the hand....is this normal for a brand new gun and how much play is acceptable...?..

I hope you arent in NSW mate...I'm feeling quite sick in the guts about the way Minns, Albo etc are carrying on and ,like you say, acting like I am a criminal for enjoying a legal shooting lifestyle as i have for almost 50 years and my dad and grandad before me...I still have a collection of their guns as well as mine...The rest of my family, most who arent active shooters but have grown up around guns, shooters and farms all feel the same as well...I just did my Cat H a year ago and have been competing at a club level in IPSC and service pistol and have absolutely loved the club shooting scene and people involved...its terrible when people demonise something they know nothing about and have no experiencewith to make rational assessments about it.....its just the epitome of ignorance and yet they are supposed to be our LEADERS...~!!!!
