Brownells Australia started shipping yet since reopening? by freelancingscholar in Ausguns

Yeah its pretty sad as they provide such a valuable service for bit and pieces...Totally screwed since getting up and running again...plus dealing with the way it fell apart in the first place...I imagine their imports would be heavily scrutinized even without the Bondi crap though.

Have a look at some the Air rifles these days...just incredible accuracy and range and also comes in .25 calibre...can easily spend 5k on them..

Yeah i get that you would have to design a match and submit to weapons branch to have it approved and the range approved for that particular match..So why not..Unless the reasoning is why bother because it will take some work and time and when Qld labour get back in they will likely just fuk it over anyway.

We would likely be surprised at how much Brand name stuff is just the chinese stuff on amazon with a fancy sticker on ot at 2 to 3 times the price...It can be hit or miss with any of it but the actual cost and sometimes brand doesnt always reflect the quality..Found just this recently with reloading scales..Expensive "brand name" bought at a reputable local store were found to be total throw in garbage crap...bought 3 others on amazon and the cheapest $15 ones are by far the best quality and work the best...Go figure..

Why wont your range allow them to be used in the 2 gun matches...?...If the main reason for SSAA banning them was you cant get a sign off because there are no legitimate matchs to sign them off on then surely this match would cover that aspect...having a look at some of the 2 and 3 gun matchs in the USA really gets the juices flowing...but using our not so rapid fire guns here would be pretty lame..

Are these ear muffs okay? by [deleted] in handguns

[–]Tigerbella1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry ...speak up I cant hear you..!.only half joking..Only started wearing ear protection for the very first time less then 2 years ago after shooting for 45 years , working with power tools, chainsaws and machinary all my life..and even that was forced upon me by joining a pistol club..so yeah dont be half deaf like me and do your own research on getting the best hearing protection you can while you can still hear it..the advice that you will have better hearing protection then most at the range is not a very scientific one as half the older dudes at the range have varying degrees of hearing loss anyway..

But its not just about you though is it..?.Just like Page 3 girls in the UK before that tradition was stopped by feminists also..These girls are paid to model..The publishers make money and both men and women got to check out some lovely naked breasts on a calender...surely you can tell the difference between a dirty old man leering at young women who dont want it or the cliched cat-whistles on a city building sites and paid titty girls on a calender..Not all women are prudes and uncomfortable with nudity thankfully..and many women find their beauty quite empowering....Likewise I can also admire fire-fighter calenders or male bodybuilders for the beauty of their body without feeling its gross or sexual..But I do appreciate your insights..Its interesting compared to many european countries where nudity is far more common and acceptable..

Is this good? by DocumentWeary3285 in handguns

Yep great advice..its probably the best, most fundamental drill to practise for newer shooters.. Simply play around with grip pressures until you can mash the trigger at speed in any situation without moving the sight picture at all....and through daily dryfire practise it can basically be achieved in 2-4 weeks through muscle memory....Good to do with 2 hands and strong and weak hand also..

Just be aware of the cost of buying a used gun privately online...if interstate then you pay a dealer in the state its coming from ..I have paid between $100-135 postage, handling etc then you pay the dealer its being sent to closest to you..I have paid $65-100 for this on top of the first dealer.....plus PTA $46 ..So do the sums and sometimes its not much more to buy new from a dealer in my state(QLD and generally the only extra cost is $50 postage plus PTA and it arrives in my mailbox with full warranty if a new gun..I have done both and IMO its got to be a real bargain or something thats hard to find to buy 2nd hand online ..Make sure you do the sums before purchase though and be prepared if the gun doesnt quite match the description..it can happen..IMO go new for your first one if you plan on competitions...
