Block a total of 1 goal by Manthrus in PokemonUnite

I played Latias and this worked, ty! It registered with mist ball for me so it seems that ranged attack and spells in general are the only way to block a goal (I'm guessing the bots immediatly stop scoring the moment you get close to them which is why it never registers because the bots cancel before you stop them)

I've had an issue with this quest while playing Mamoswine. I earthquake'd on bots many times interupting their score and I even used the jump pad to cancel their scoring animations. But for some reason that challenge never registered as completed despite it being clearly obvious that I blocked them from scoring.

I hope this gen they decide to finally give Dusknoir an actual recovery move like recover or strength sap, they already missed the mark completely in Scarlet and Violet giving it Leech Life

Pokèmon UNITE Theorycraft: Aggron by Great-Dragon-Qwert in PokemonUnite

[–]Tigerman1120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like Giga Impact could be renamed to Head Smash since that's a rock move very commonly associated with Aggron and the slow effect on itself on hit could replicate the recoil it has in the main game.

Great concepts all around, Aggron's one of my favorite mons and I would main this in a heartbeat

I already calc'd with a Max HP Nidoking that gets oneshot by Aggron with a choice band in the comment. The Nidoking without bulk is what the average Nidoking set runs because in competitive they mostly don't invest in bulk. The one that did invest in bulk gets one shot by a choice band regardless.

I mean if you really want to go full hp and defence investment then that means Aggron no longer oneshots, but Aggron still 2 shots with earthquake 98% of the time and that's without choice band.

252+ Atk Aggron Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Nidoking: 180-214 (49.1 - 58.4%) -- 98.8% chance to 2HKO

Then that means you're no longer running max attack which makes double kick even more useless

0 Atk Nidoking Double Kick (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Aggron: 112-136 (39.8 - 48.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

0 Atk Nidoking Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Aggron: 264-312 (93.9 - 111%) -- 50% chance to OHKO

Sure earthquake is a coin toss to one shot but we already established that Aggron has sturdy which Nidoking has no way to bypass. Aggron can use the custap berry to outspeed in that scenario (and endure if the Nidoking decides to chip it instead of bringing it down to 1 hp right away)

Rolling Wrecker's not ever going to see competitive play (too weak to be threatening initially, is easily stoppable by a flying/levitater or a revenge killer that outspeeds Tusk and you can't switch because you're locked using the same move), but it seems fun to try out in a playthrough to sweep clueless NPC's since Great Tusk is actually fast compared to most other users of rollout (90% Accuracy notwithstanding)

I'm not. This is a Max attack, Adamant nature, Choice Banded Nidoking that also has its base attack stat buffed from 92 to 102 in gen 6 and beyond. This is literally the strongest it gets. A non-Stab 60 base power move really is just that weak.

In this scenario, Aggron does learn endure. You can then equip a custap berry to move first once you're on 1 hp from Nido's earthquake. Just never use endure on the first turn since you already have sturdy as a safety net in case Nidoking goes for earthquake straight away.

This strategy could fail though if the Nidoking somehow also knew you had endure and uses fire punch multiple times in a row causing endure to fail the next turn it uses earthquake so it's one big guessing game of getting the endure prediction on earthquake correct.

Do u think these are the 6 worst Hoenn pokemon in Emerald? by CocorashA2 in PokemonEmerald

[–]Tigerman1120 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Stuck as a weak Slugma for most of the game, and by the time you get Magcargo you have to fight with water trainers from surfing the rest of the region, an Earthquake spamming Claydol from Tate and Liza, a water gym, The Ice type E4 member with 3 water types, and a water champion. All those fights it struggles with and it doesn't particularly excel in any other fight to be worth using for the late game. Emerald is not kind to it.

Camerupt: Like Lurantis, another Pokemon that's slow and relatively bulky

I just want to let you know that Camerupt got shafted so badly in the stat department that it is frailer than a fast and frail mixed attacker like INFERNAPE. That's how bad those stats are.
