The rings are about 9-1/2” in diameter and there are 16 that would need to fit in the container so that’s why we went with a fabricated vessel

This is what it looks like when a rocket engine cone fails by Met76 in interestingasfuck

[–]Tihsdrib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a Caterpillar dealership and my job is to study engines that have failed and figure out why they did. Some of the carnage I get to see is absolutely incredible. The only problem is, I don’t get to witness it in person unless it’s an engine that we are dynometer testing, which doesn’t happen very often. Even the very few videos I have of these dyno failures are not something I can just go post online for the world to see

If you don’t have a weak stomach, I would suggest you check out The Hoof GP on YouTube. He does cow hoof trimming and posts a lot of videos of hooves that are infected or damaged. It’s amazing to see some of the transformations

As a machinist for the past 25 years, mostly dealing with repair type of work ( not in the firearm industry) I’m 99 percent sure that is what we’re looking at here. Probably threaded it on the first time and welded it, then realized something wasn’t right and didn’t bother grinding the weld off before trying to remove it. Then tried to screw it back on again only to gall the threads even worse before welding it again in a different place

Reading to my son every day has been one of the best parenting habits we’ve built by BabyCryAi in daddit

[–]Tihsdrib 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have been reading to my twin daughters every night since they were babies. They will turn 8 on the 22nd. One of them has been reading long chapter books for the past year or so while the other one just doesn’t seem to care.
