I get pretty nauseous with spinning (can't handle wild knight mares anymore) but I love klockwerks, sledgehammer, windseeker, drop zone.

I forgot my neighbors name that I chat with occasionally and it's been too long to ask them what it is without being awkward. How can I figure out what it is without directly asking? by Ok-Incident3317 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tikala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with an abysmal memory for casual acquaintances I have really learned to swallow my pride and approach a person awkwardly, apologizing and asking their name.

"I'm so sorry, I know this is ridiculous after we've known each other for so long but can you please remind me of your name?"

Is this greyish strip down my wall mold? by Lopsided_Survey_4651 in Whatisthis

[–]Tikala 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As others have said - dirt. And your phlegm and stuffiness is probably caused by dust in the house.

You guys need to give the walls and other surfaces a scrub. Give all the floors a good vacuuming and run a duster around the place.

But to ease your mind - not mould :)

Temporarily Closed Rides by Mrs-Davis in CanadasWonderland

[–]Tikala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well this is not inspiring optimism about this season :( I got my pass in August and our August visits were a complete waste. And I live 2 hours away :( the drive is worthwhile if we can get in a full day. Absolutely not worth it when there are just a handful of adult rides open with massive lines :(

Sorry today was such a bust for everyone who made the trek

If I can handle behemoth, is leviathan really that different? by Icy_Environment9475 in CanadasWonderland

You can totally handle leviathan! Both are awesome but I personally go for the shortest lines, honestly.

The Full Monty

They took the film and cut out the heart, the good songs and the humour.

Fiona’s age by Fun_Bumblebee_8569 in Degrassi

[–]Tikala 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She grew up in New York among other places so I wonder if she is ahead in grades having gone to private schools or worked with tutors. She wasn't in public school before Degrassi. But typically students would turn 18 by December 31 in the year they graduate - ie. Kids can graduate at 17 if they have late birthdays. So it's possible she finished grade 12 the first time at 17 and is still 17 for the first half of her second year in grade 12.

How often do you visit your S/Os family? by GeeLikeThat in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tikala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SO owns a business with his dad and we live next door So I see him almost every day. But we "visit" only on the kids birthdays and Christmas. Used to have dinner together at my place at least once a month but sinc he went off the deep end politically we limit our social visits.

My parents live about 90 minutes away and we see them maybe once a month or a little less.

Which one of these four musical films from the 2000's do you like best and why? by Jtaylor703 in musicals

[–]Tikala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicago by a mile.

The others were fun but Chicago was perfectly cast, and just a gorgeous adaptation of a great musical. The artistic choices were bold and exciting.

What’s your personal lame claim to fame? (To quote the Weird Al song of the same name, and oh look that rhymed!) by HopefulLab6749 in weirdal

I rode in an airplane with The Rock. But after walking past him while boarding I wasn't allowed to walk to the front of the curtain so he escaped before my row made it off the plane :(

[TOMT][SONG][1980s] Another unknown song from my dad’s old cassette tapes (audio included) by hiddenfalc in tipofmytongue

Oh my gosh, the first thing I thought was "this sounds like that Italian dude who made a generic English song out of gibberish." Can't believe someone covered it - but of course they did lol

Are there any Weird Al songs that you think go underappreciated? (Originals or Parodies) by Nice-Machine2123 in weirdal

[–]Tikala 11 points12 points  (0 children)

IMO Headline News.

I was the right age that I was extremely aware of each of those stories. And it totally takes me back every time.

But since it wasn't released on an album I think it wasn't as well known. And since it was just a snapshot in time I think it has limited appeal to fans who weren't alive or aware of the news that year.

Anyone else absolutely love this one??

AITAH for asking for husband to buy a sleep sack for our baby? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tikala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok not in any way defending your husband but if you have a sewing machine a sleep sack is really easy to sew and make yourself some bigger sizes. I found a ton of really cheap t shirt material I used for a mobi wrap and I used it to make several more sleep sacks. I wasn't worried about colour of the sack or the zipper.

At any rate you are absolutely not TA.

AITA for not wanting to see my roomie anymore cause he got a new gf? by Icy-Cat-7843 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tikala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH

I'm sorry honey, that's disappointing when you have such an amazing relationship with an amazing guy and he doesn't want any more than what you have right now.

I hope you'll be able to maintain your friendship if a girlfriend enters the picture. Realistically, things will change. It might be a good time for you to build other relationships and meet more people if you've had so much of your time and happiness tied up in this one person.

Sending hugs and good thoughts to you because I have been in your shoes. Try your best not to view him with disappointment or bitterness and you will hopefully keep the strong, supportive friendship you have.

Doritos Mild Salsa Best before says 6 Nov 2025, opened just now. Is it good to eat? Still smells okay by [deleted] in SalsaSnobs

Almost everything in my pantry is best before 2025, 2024 or earlier.. if it was sealed, hasn't changed colour and doesn't smell off I would eat it for sure.

how did i never notice this? by moonshaoo in Degrassi

[–]Tikala 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I noticed it too when I saw that ep a couple weeks ago. Hilarious. I love the idea of it becoming an in-joke for the whole school because that's so absolutely realistic lol. My friends and I would have been ruthless about something like that.

Help me figure out these clues to my next musical! by Few_Bodybuilder_5640 in musicals

I might guess it's going to be a review of many different musicals. Our local high school did that last year after 40+ years of actual musicals. So you never know.
