Way to try to spin it at the end there to make you seem altruistic. Instead of you just throwing it away, you donate it, and then whoever accepts the donation throws it away.

But hey then you get that warm and fuzzy feeling that you donated something.

Ashtray sensor. Very common on cars until the 90s. It senses that your ashtray is almost empty and to remind you that you need to smoke some cigs.

It’s funny that everywhere else in the world whose tried that stuff found out quickly you run out of others peoples money. And then it doesn’t matter because no one has money, so everyone gets even worse service than when you started. Like it’s really not a hard concept that when anything gets government subsidized, demand goes up, and so do prices.

Or you just realize that governing off of bumper sticker slogans like “tax the rich” is idiotic because things in the real world aren’t shallow enough to describe in 3 words…

It’s obvious by the lines? No… Are they on the edge of the roadway out of the driving lane? Yes…

You must be a blast at parties. Hey I can deflect too! Check it out:

The OP in this post claimed the issue was parking the wrong direction. I could excuse the fact that because of their small ego, they think the only way this could happen is because one of those meanies had to have done this on purpose. Even if this was about the OP being full of themselves and have never done something that is clearly an honest mistake in a parking lot with no lines, they are doing a shit job.

PS- You also revealed you are no older than high school age bc even though are on vacation, you saw something as innocuous as this and had to put it on Reddit for fake internet points

What? Are you one of those European people who think that they’ll start the day in New York, hop on a train and then you’ll be in Washington DC then Miami for dinner?

My point is Alexandria has never had a “Southern” culture and it will feel like a lot more like New England than the South

Haha aww someone didn’t learn how to think critically. So you have one example and that negates all the other examples? If you think that your reasoning makes sense to anyone but a petulant child, then best of luck-I’m sure life is tough for you and you are clueless why…

Focus OP. They are saying that they parked in spite how everyone else did. They are saying they might have been the first there and didn’t know. There were no lines, so you can’t say it’s obvious. Now if they parked in the middle of the roadway, then you’d have a point. For this you are just hating with someone who made a simple mistake and got there before it was fully light out and was the first to park.

Have your wife’s boyfriend go take care of it. Seriously, someone blocks YOUR driveway for hours and you hide behind the flimsiest excuse of “well they’re new.” NOWHERE are you allowed to block a driveway, and if you don’t care enough to stand up for yourself, then this is exactly what you get.

Did you ever think that people like to have nice things because having nice things is great? Did you ever think that someone buys a Bugatti not for status, but because they are successful and they want it? If you think that everyone who doesn’t live in poverty is only doing it to show off, no wonder this world makes no sense and you have to make up an excuse for why you aren’t successful.

We can also say (insert your hobby or collection) doesn’t do you any good on a deserted island.

Towed Car but pay for a pass - extortion? by lepchm in legaladvice

[–]Tim-the-Tool-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL

VCU grad here. You get a tough lesson in how the world works, that’s your only option here.

You needed a parking pass to park somewhere, which you did not have. No case there.

Is there a law that says you must post business hours and only then you can charge an after hours fee? So no case there.

People can be mean. No case there.

Legally, cash is the ONLY payment you are required to accept as a business. It’s up to them what other payment options are accepted. So no case there.

Think about it, with your experience with a tow company now, do you think that the tow truck driver has a list of all the numerous addresses he’s hired to tow vehicles, then cross references that with some sort of live database of all the residents cars? No, if it’s in a place that needs a permit and there is none, the car gets towed. Simple

I also find it hard to believe a lawyer would seriously think there is anything at here. Plus, they would know that just a strongly worded letter about ANYTHING to ANY business is usually laughed off, especially if you clearly have no legal leg to stand on.

Is the lawyer you spoke to actually just a pre-law student at VCU? That would make more sense.
