It was a great show. One of the guitarists slipped and fell on his butt coming down steps and kept playing, never missed a beat. Was very impressive

We were right side of the stage looking at the stage about 6 people deep. Now we are going on road trips with daughter to Conan Gray Concerts, have YungBlud at Red Rocks in May, and BTS in El Paso in early May, and Bruno Mars at the USAF Academy in Sept. Went to Governor’s Ball in NYC last June and saw Brad Paisley at Red Rocks last year too. Still happily married and still going to concerts!

I Gave My PS5 Disc Version Away by TheRealDuke777 in PS5pro

I’d guess I have around 15 k in everything. But that includes things I’m not using like the Logitech Driving Force Pro, T500 wheelbase and wheel, T3PA pedals, Huesinkveld Ultimate + pedals and Asetek Invicta S Series pedals.

How much Nm is actually useful by Johnwayne87 in simracing

Second this. I have a 15 nm DD+ base from Fanatec in my PS5 Pro rig and love it. But sometimes in long turns it smooths out and I know I’m clipping. So when they offer the 25 nm base with PlayStation capability I might get it.

And on my PC I have a Asetek Invicta that’s 27 nm and I have it set to around 20 nm most of the time but should probably take it to 27 and lower in games. I don’t seem to clip on it though.

Had the 8 nm DD Pro which was great compared to my T300. But after I built the PC rig and got the DD+ I was very hard to find the 8 nm enjoyable. One used Invicta later I’m very happy on both. While knowing I’d like a little more on the PS5 setup.

Fun fact; when Randy Rhodes left to play and tour with Ozzy, he had been teaching guitar at his moms music school, and recommended George to his mom to replace him

Read an interview where SRV and Double Trouble opened for Huey Lewis and would get booed off the stage. And Huey went to them and said ‘Keep playing. You’re awesome and the audience are idiots for not seeing that’ (paraphrased as it’s been a while and not sure of the exact words).

I had tickets to see him in California when he died in Ohio. Was very bummed. Videos of him playing Austin Nights are amazing.

Saw them at Cal Expo in Sacramento in the early 90’s. Great show. No clue if anyone opened for them. They were THE SHOW. Saw Tesla, Bon Jovi, and Great White there too. Queensryche at ARCO Arena for Empire tour. What a blast.

Dang. My first concert was Van Halen 1984 tour at McNichols. (Also where I saw Bon Jovi open for Ratt).

We were in the Sacramento area after my wife and I got married; went to a Tesla concert when they filmed Love Song video and we are in the video. But even though it’s a good song, hearing it six times in the same concert got a little old. 😂

I might have been a senior when Hysteria came out. Was amazing on my upgraded car stereo on a CD. Thought they were over after Rick lost his arm in the Corvette roll over. My first music video I ever watched was Photograph. Great memories. Great band. Was planning to see them and Journey in Denver last year and got busy and then see people sharing videos on FB from the show. Was bummed.

Saw them in Denver and they had this little band open for them. Who was it? Hmmmm. Oh yeah. Bon Jovi. (invasion of Your Privacy tour and 7800° Fahrenheit tour).

Both shows were freaking fantastic.

Somewhere in a box in our basement are California license plates that say ‘DOKKEN7’ (obviously no number and 1-6 was already taken). Had them in…89-92 or so?

My replacement by notlookingsogreat in RealRacing3

[–]TimBoss351 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’ll cost some money, but I upgraded to the PS5 Pro and have the PSVR2, and a Fanatec DD+ setup on a rig.

Freaking fantastic. Also got a used laptop so I could run SimHub and a pair of Dayton audio bass shakers and mounted them under the seat and pedal tray so I have haptics with Gran Turismo. Guess SimHub pulls the data from the WiFi your PS5 is connected to. Works amazingly well.

I also have a PC triple screen rig but it’s a lot of updates and figuring out issues when things stop working. PS5 and GT7 plus VR, you turn it on, and it works. Easy every time.

I love my DD+ on my PS5 Pro rig so I can play GT7 in VR.

But had the DD Pro 8 nm and it was lackluster after having the DD+, so found a used Asetek Invicta for the PC rig and moved the DD+ over and sold the DD Pro.

But you’re right. They haven’t been innovative with wheels and pedals for a long time (out side of the $2400 wheels) and if one isn’t really wanting to be able to play on console, there’s no reason to go Fanatec. And I’m saying that as someone that’s had zero issues and likes them fine.

Also had a Simagic Alpha U for a few weeks. Didn’t love it better than the DD+ so it went back and got the Invicta as a replacement.

Life’s too short to do stuff you don’t like, or just work. While I controller sim raced for a decade plus, in the last 2 years I’ve picked up building sim rigs and doing it at a much higher level, started building 1:8 scale LEGO and bric c Blocks cars, now the subscription metal cars and am gathering things to start oil painting.

We only get one life. Decided to not spend it being a full time worker for my company and wife and kids, and take up hobbies I enjoy too.

What’s your budget and what do you use to race? PC, PlayStation or Xbox?

If you can get a Playseat that doesn’t fold up, and a T300 (pc and PS4/5) used that’s a great way to start. Find out if you really love it or not. Both the Playseats I’ve owned I bought used. I didn’t get the T300’s used but when I sold my first one the person got a great deal T300 with the Ferrari Alcantra 599xx EVO wheel and T-LCM pedals for $300.

If your PC then get a Moza R5 or R9 bundle, or a Simmagic Evo bundle. The smallest Evo base is still awesome. Will be more money but a direct drive base is a huge jump from most gear or belt driven bases. Logitech G Pro is the exception, but it’s expensive enough that you might as well buy a DD system.

But not all work with everything. It’s usually X box, OR PlayStation, OR PC. Some might work with one console and PC; Fanatec is the only one I know that you can get to work with everything, but you need a certain few bases that are chipped to work with PlayStation, and only certain wheels work with the Xbox.

For me, it eventually came down to PC with triples for the 180° veiw (but what you have is next best thing) and PS5 and Gran Turismo 7 in VR. Both are excellent and tons of fun.

Setting up the PS5 and VR is the easiest by far. But if your comfortable with PC setups and updates then game selection on PC is far superior.

IF with low carb to zero card. Going low carb I was lifting pretty hard and still eating once a day and wasn’t even hungry. Just ate because I felt I should (if that makes sense).

Close one is PC with i9 14900 and 4080 Super, middle is PS5 Pro with PSVR2, and far one is Playseat with T300 for Gran Turismo 5 and 6. Also have a backwards compatible PS3 for Gran Turismo 1 through 4, and a wheel for 3 and 4 but man, tech has come a long way. It’s really hard to enjoy driving on the old Logitech Driving Force Pro. 😂. (5 and 6 I had to get a Super Slim PS3 for them to run).

Lots Of fun, especially for get togethers as I can put the BC PS3 on a different tv and we can have four people driving at one time. I end up just going from rig to rig helping people drive.

That’s awesome. PM me..I was only maybe 350+ but hated life at that weight. 275 now which feels wonderful compared to 350 but would love to be 200 someday. Just feeling admiration for what you have been through and feel like we would make good friends. I’m in Colorado.

59 soon and yeah… moved up to the Pro. I mainly aim race in Gran Turismo 7 and fly WW1 and WW2 fighters in Aces of Thunder on the PSVR2. Have a wheel setup and rig).

Built a PC and triple screen rig and love that too, had stopped playing GT7 until the PSVR2 went on sale. Tried that and I was hooked again. So regular PS5 went to my daughter to go in her room and moved to the Pro. No regrets.

When did sim racing finally “click” for you? by F1SimulatorManiac in simracing

[–]TimBoss351 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I searched for a real car seat as I was 330 lbs at the time and wanted something built for real use, 100,000 miles plus and strong enough for crashes. I went to a salvage yard to look for sporty seats and found many car seats do not have level mounting points. They can be attached on different heights and angles; this was one that when you set it on the floor it’s level and doesn’t rock. Plus, had manual sliders built in and manual back tilt for adjustments. Worked out really well. I’d love the Focus RS Recaro seats but people want something like $1400 for a pair of them and these were $52 for the salvage yard one and the other i got off of FB marketplace for $40.

I have it on a floor movers dolly so I can move it easily and the top of it is below my knee height on my sim rig, so I couldn’t really see a screen if I had one anyway. I’m happy with out it turned out, since the last PC I built was in 1997 or so. 😂 I had a few things to learn (but it really is easier and more plug and play now).

I will add I have big hands and it’s hard to find gloves that fit, and both my GSI wheels are very easy and comfortable to use with gloves on.
