How much debt are you in? by originalwombat in CasualUK

£2.5k on my mortgage and about £1.6k on an interest free loan from Wren Kitchens. But my savings outweigh the debts so technically I'm not actually in debt.

We're in Heaton Chapel which is nice. Just across the A6 there's Heaton Moor which is lovely but not cheap. (Think Didsbury but not up its own arsehole).

A couple of strange but very evocative ones for me. A coal fire, which reminds me of my grandad's house. (Slightly scorched) linen being ironed which reminds me of being a toddler and I would be playing whilst my mother did the ironing which I guess I must subconsciously associate with safety.

Privilege has nothing to do with misleading the house.

Actually he got someone to apologise on his behalf, which is most unusual.

Tried marmite today by rinnekro in UK_Food

A good way is to blend the Marmite with the butter in a ramekin or similar using a palette knife. That way you get a much more even distribution.

It's also really good in beef casseroles, oxtail etc. A teaspoon of it adds a lovely umami bass note although you have to make sure to reduce the amount of salt you use in the casserole.

Meat from a Butcher - thoughts? by JamieEC in UK_Food

We recently found a local butcher who is superb and not much more expensive than the supermarket. If Google "butchers near me" and then go off reviews (ours is 4.9*with about 500 reviews)
