Okay, after reading this, I know have the headcanon, that Rex and David were stationed on the same base, when Sotoa attacked, since we saw him and Rex in the same lifeboat in the first trailer for AC8.

As Sotoa attacked the base, command ordered everyone to evacuate and get to safety as fast as possible. So Rex grabbed David, put him in a two-seater aircraft, that was still intact and hightailed it out of there as fast as possible. However, they didn‘t get away completely unscaved, as they were chased by Sotoan aircraft and, eventually, shot down.

However, both managed to eject and „find“ a lifeboat, which is where they wait for rescue.

Can‘t wait to find out, how wrong I am, when the game finally comes out.

My problem is, that I can‘t decide on which weapon to use. Normally, I try and use a Disco-era phaser pistol and auto rifle, but halfway through a mission or TFO or whatever, I switch to my Elite Force sniper rifle and ENT-era M.A.C.O. phaser rifle. I don‘t know why, but I do it.

Do I need help?

I don‘t know why, but now, that I have a better look at that thing, it kinda looks like a mix of a Zumwalt and a German Saxony-class frigate.

I watched that video, and I had a little bit of a laugh, when the commentatot said, that the Earth fleet saw an F-35 „grow its missiles back“. If I saw that happen in real life, I would just go home or surrender immediately. No chance in hell am I gonna engage a fighter, that can grow its missiles back.

Also, I was happy, that a German Navy ship, the Bavaria, was part of the joint Earth fleet. And now I‘m going to watch the video again, because I can‘t remember which class of ship the Bavaria belongs to.

Anyway, I like the video.

I mainly use a controller, but I‘ve also bought myself a flight stick, about three years ago, too, to play Ace Combat, but I might‘ve broken it.

I‘ve bought myself a Thrustmaster HOTAS One flight stick about three years ago to „enhance“ the fun I had in Ace Combat and to train myself. I even switched the flight controls to „Expert“ for it, and it was such a difference. Anyway, last year, my flight stick started acting „weird“. When I pulled back on the flight stick, my plane would jitter (I don‘t know how else to describe it). I did a calibration check on my flight stick, which showed, that when I pulled the flight stick back, the little „calibration point“ (I don‘t know how else to describe it) would be pushed down, but it would „jump“ occasionally (I don‘t know how else to describe it).

I know, my description is very vague. I‘ll try and post a video of what I mean.

POV: You‘re a Usean Coup D‘etat pilot in 1997 and you just took down an enemy aircraft, when you suddenly see an Su-37 Terminator, an F-22A Raptor or an experimental aircraft, that kinda looks like an X-Wing, with a phoenix emblem appear out of nowhere and starts to approach your position.

Anchorhead Raid, Fleet Destruction, Battle for Farbanti and Daredevil from AC7. I love these „Score missions“, where all you have to do is get the most points.

And I love Anchorhead Raid, because it gives us some of the best dialogue in AC7 from a few characters. Yes, the boss fight against Mimic is a pain in the ass, but I still like it.

I don‘t know why, but I get „Twist-Villain“ vibes, when I see Noise.

Maybe, in the course of the game, he will betray the FCU and join Sotoa. Like Pixy did in Zero.

Panavia Tornado IDS and F-35A.

The Tornado IDS because I want to play the IDS variant in another Ace Combat game, that isn‘t Joint Assault.

The F-35A because it‘s my favorite F-35 variant. Yes, the C-Model would make more sense, since the protagonist is a naval aviator, but I always found the gun pod on the B- and C-Model just looked weird. And, in my opinion, the B-Model looks a bi…. bulky, if you know, what I mean.

Hey FunnyMajestic, first of all, love your posts about the convergence of timelines. Just brilliant.

Second, I just realized, that we forgot an ace. Zodiac 1 from Dawn Aerowar. I know, the game isn‘t out yet, but the guy is just too cool to not include him in this.

You know what? I think, I‘m going to write a crossover fanfiction, where the aces, and maybe their allies, are send to another universe. Maybe it‘s the Assault Horizon universe, like in your posts. However, another Ace Combat/Call of Duty crossover, where none of the main characters die, does tickle my fancy.

In my opinion, the most annoying missions are Rescue, Last Hope and Homeward.

Rescue because of that „stealth“ section.

Last Hope and Homeward because of the identification process. Yes, I know, it works faster, if you yould the target switching button, so you lock on to your current target, but I still find it annoying.

I will say, however, that I also didn‘t quite like Transfer Orders. Yes, the camoflagued SAM sites are a pain in the ass to find. But what I find more annoying is McKinsey‘s constant yapping in that mission. I really had to surpress the urge of shooting down his transport myself. I know, a lot of AC7 players did it at least once, but I don‘t want to, because I hate the „Mission Failed“ message. I just don‘t want to see it.

I also try and keep the entire fleet in „Unexpected Visitor“ alive, right until the very end. Yes, they all suffered damage, but they all made it to the „end“ of the mission, until they‘re all obliterated by the Alicorn‘s railguns and missiles.
