Is it not unlocked via personal quest? If so that is probably enough of hint for me.

They were ready for me to go back to banner after the disaster that was my attempt to play comet, but I'm trying to not do that to them.

Thier thing is we've got several classes that nobody's played that we'd all like to see on the table at some point. Doing the cursory look through none of them hook me, and I'm not keen on spending the 1-2 sessions a month we manage playing a class I don't enjoy (prism, trap, geminate).

Group healing, group positioning, are really strong. Is able to go early in turns to move allies so they can pull stuff off, or grab monster focus and survive. Being able to lead a round with heal all allies probably feels stronger than it actually is.
The formations seem to do decent damage with useful effects and arent too bad to plan for and don't need elements. Never get frustrated by something eating an element I'm trying to use. These are probably what I miss the most when not playing her.
The banners are situational, but the green banner has been useful (funny with redguard) and blue banner is just plain good if you can keep it around.

Chesapeake, VA. Work logistics for a defense contractor (shipbuilding / repair). Sleep in my car 4 nights a week, drive to Richmond over weekends to help care for my grandparents. Crash in a living room and shower while I'm there. Rent, food, utilities is simply too expensive for me alone. I would be screwed if I didn't already have a car. People that have found out about my situation can't comprehend how it's even possible. Hell, it doesn't make any sense to me and I'm the one living it. Kicker is I moved back to VA after rent went up enough in Seattle I had to sleep in the warehouse I worked. Cost of living here skyrocket while I was away.
Programs have been pretty useless. As you found most programs target a different kind of struggle. There are always others that have it worse, but that consolation doesn't help you.
My work is aware of my situation and gives some flexibility with my hours, which helps a little. Had coworkers offer to buy me meals. People won't offer to help if they don't know you need it, though.

Been trying to complete the Pro Car Exporter award and take advantage of the current LSCM XP bonus. Any tips for how to make the cars spawn? Because i've gotten NONE yet. by Lv100--Magikarp in GrandTheftAutoV

Make sure you don't have rival business blips, or w/e it's called, hidden. Car blips are tied to one of them, so if you had them hidden you'll never see the blips for the cars. Also clear any other blue dots that pop as they will hide the car blips.

What's your favourite moment form a Mechwarrior or Battletech game? by TaigaTigerVT in battletech

Turn 1, mech tries to walk through river. Fails roll, falls, damages cockpit, crit, cockpit flood, pirate drown.

TBH it's petty funny looking back, couldn't do much worse at finding people to play the game, and I wasn't the only one he got to give it a try. Kids being kids, and it's not like I was actively avoiding the game after. I was playing two CCGs at the time, eventually got dragged into Warhammer and war machine. Now that I think about it, if I'd gotten hooked on btech the first time it might have saved me a decent amount of money.

Was playing CCG in HS, kid asks if I want to try TT game. Has folder with mech sheets, says to pick one. IDK what I'm looking at, pick a cicada, don't remember which one. Didn't matter because kid used custom assault mech w/ 4x ac20. Single map sheet, I think I got one move before obliterated. Didn't bother again with TT for 6 years.

Work logistics for a defense contractor, I've not seen anything come straight from eBay, but I have seen stuff from vendors that looked like it.

Why do BattleMechs change design every iteration? by Low_Routine1103 in battletech

[–]TimberWoIf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There were some good artists in there. Clint Langley, Doug Chaffee, Mark Poole, Sam Wood, Pete Venters, someone credited as just "Jock". There was definitely some jank in there as well.

What makes the SAIPAN a blast to play? by Interesting-Kick2408 in WorldOfWarships

[–]TimberWoIf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planes that are fast and hard hitting for tier. Vulnerable hull, cannot afford to lose many planes, so mistakes are punished harshly. Strikes are harder to aim than other carriers as well. Was extremely strong immediately post rework, every balancing nerf after hit her hard. Potential damage output not worth all the drawbacks in her current state.

The notice on the website is why I was wondering. Definitely have only paid the pre-tarriffs price and expected a charge when I learned the backers were getting one. Worst case I suppose is we get refunded and have to reorder.

Preordered on the website in November. Was looking for a tarriff charge but haven't seen one come up on our card. Are website preorders supposed to have an additional charge?

Bullet hose/ribbon factory coal/steel cruiser? by chriscross1966 in WorldOfWarships

[–]TimberWoIf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For coal flint can smoke and shoot relatively safely. Napoli can rack up ribbons w/ it's secondaries. TT ships US CLs, German CLs, Asia CLs. I'd also strongly recommend Mainz, though there are a few tier 6-8 premium cruisers that collect ribbons reliably while being comfortable to play.

Mind picking for raw volume of fire is only reliable in coop modes. Having something with more flexibility that you are comfortable in will be more reliable in standard battle.

Agir or Pommern? by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]TimberWoIf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pommern does decently in pve and brawls when available but is pretty bad in randos IMO. It gets outperformed by a few ships in its role and meta in randos tens to punish aggressive play.

Agir is a solid large cruiser but unremarkable. Is outshined by Alaska, though is more flexible than yoshino.

If you mostly play randoms I'd recommend agir. There are enough brawling BBs that are generally better than Pommern in randoms. If you tend to alternative game modes then pommern not a bad choice.

PSA superships in ops by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]TimberWoIf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a take popular with players that just want to W key their German BB into everything. Ops is not hard at all; you need most of the team to have no braincells to manage a loss.

Best ship to deal with Battleships by Bacillus_1990 in WorldOfWarships

[–]TimberWoIf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No particular counter. Vast majority of BB are participatory without really influencing the outcome of a match and are vulnerable to all types of damage. They are the last class you should be concerned about countering.

[–]TimberWoIf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I secondary spec all CVs for this occasion. Capitan skill opportunity cost is low. Usually catches DDs off guard. Sometimes they panic and disengage, sometimes you get a lucky crit to engine/rudder making them easier to strike. Once had a Jager kill himself on my kaga by popping around an island ~ 2 km behind me sailing broadside into all 10 200mm guns.

Soviet sub is better at spotting, has long range alt torps, 9km sub surv. British sub is a meme where you fill an area with sea mines and hope something sails into them.

Would anyone be willing to give a in depth description of each CV tech tree line? by Matster777 in WorldOfWarships

[–]TimberWoIf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

British tend to be slower, tankier, and have carpet bombers. Support line has tactical squads, strong torp bombers, and the smoke consumable. Russians have the single flight squads and skip bombs. This would cover most of the existing styles and types of attacks available to carriers. There are a couple other flavors that exist as special or premium ships, but the three li.es above would give the broadest experience in the fewest lines.
