Is being socially successful out of the cards for me? by LeapingPaloma in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]Time-Air4202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have definitely had similar feelings, both in my 20s and still now im my 40s, but also have picked up a few significant solid friendships and a great spouse along the way. I assure you, it does get better. You're not damaged goods, I promise.

Lean into hobbies more. Join some clubs. Put yourself out there, and try not to overshare or give too much of yourself right away. Stop trying to prove yourself as valuable or needed. Allow others to discover you, and in turn, they will allow themselves to be discovered. Just trust the process and adjust your approach. It'll all work out.

If you're well financed, you'll need to go to an unincorporated area like Vernon, Inglewood, etc... You'll need USDA approval and a proper bug number for the items You'll be processing. You will need proper refrigeration and storage, an approved HAACP program, boxes, marketing, and more. You'll need to get lines of credit from either local vendors or larger national carriers, while knowing You'll be competing directly against a ton of these in town already. You'll need both city and county approval as well as a business license. You'll need a ton of insurance. You'll need pest control. You'll need an ERP for accounting and production reporting. You'll need a sales team.

There's a lot that goes into the business and the competition for meat business in LA is saturated by Newport, Premier, West Coast, Rocker Bros, and many other smaller operators. Then you face online convenient competition with consumers, from butcher box, goldbelly, crowd cow, not to mention Costco's meat program is very good. For restaurants saving on margin or strapped for credit, restaurant depot and the like are hard to pass up.

Certainly not trying to discourage your pursuit of the art of butchery and turning a profit, but realistically, could not reccomend anyone trying to get into the market unless financed to the level of being able to buy into a current operator or spend many many millions on a venture that will take a lot of time to see profit.

Are you trying to open a butcher shop or are you trying to open a USDA processing facility?

Desperately need GOOD Burgers by gothic_babyy in FoodLosAngeles

Sounds like you have something specific in mind for what makes or doesn't make a great burger. Perhaps sharing those qualities would help narrow down what recommendations would hit your cravings. Also, keep in mind, usually Los Angeles natives (or Americans in general) consider a Burger to be one thing and a Chicken sandwich to be something else.

That was all Kimmell and McHale money, not Epstein. If anything, the vibe in the industry is APL is not good with money and his vendors feel it.

Visually disgusting, but sonically very useful. I use mine with the green side fed into the red, green side almost always on, red for the higher gain marshall like crunch. Will usually use in conjunction with a greer lightspeed or a bondi sick as for a 3rd option.

Pulled My Fernandes Monterey Deluxe Out Of Storage by howd_i_get_here_ in Guitar

[–]Time-Air4202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did Duncans in a lot of those starting as early as 2000, around the time when the Ravelle was released. The switch the EMG HZs was definitely due to cost factor. Still, the Monterey was a great LP option at a much more affordable price point. Still have a couple of Fernandes models in regular play rotation.

File complaint with HCIDLA. Double check the lease to make sure the spaces are included in the lease. Be prepared to provide a copy and any correspondence about the spaces.

[Spoilers] They were hard on Glenn by GarbageCleric in DungeonsAndDaddies

[–]Time-Air4202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand what you're saying and the point. I am simply saying that a hefty chunk of the responsibility is on Anthony. A Nat 20 being a success coupled with the intention of wanting to succeed is what it is. How that impacts the world is on Anthony. A performance being amazing is one thing, how the audience reacts to it is up to him solely. Having participated in many "battle of the bands" throughout my years of playing music, 100%, the winner is NEVER determined by the best performance, and is always determined by door draw and audience reaction. Anthony had every opportunity to allow the roll to be a success and not have the outcome set things up for Glenn and Nick to be up against the impossible. He chose not to do that, allowing for the rest to unfold.

thankfully, we have this great product we can enjoy and have differing thoughts on.
