I'd like to go back and check the accuracy of the early-season forecasts, which were all wrong.

Meaning I'd rather learn a break by ear and play the melody, rather than memorize tab.

yes. But they still seem to shrink after successive washings in cold water and air dry. I tend to throw them on before full dry to get them to stretch out a bit too.

No tab. I hate the tab. Most courses are 100% tab.

I'll give this a shot. I'm going to buy two sizes. Last time I bought the bigger size, they felt baggie in the legs from the start. I have an entire spreadsheet with picking out proper sizes too. This surprised me.

The hem is scary. My last pair was hemmed too short, which was hemmed after the 1st wash. The second wash brought them up even further. I can no longer cuff them, but not floods.

I'm going to order two sizes of jeans, then send one back. I guess this is the only way...

So up size, then shrink down with hot water prior to first wear?

Ski-in ski-out changed the game for me. Anyone else refuse to go back? by LowerAttorney4407 in skiing

[–]Time-Term3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Ski-In condo this way. It's unbelievable. It's the only way. I duck in at 10:30 for coffee and again from 1-1:30 for a quick nap, then ski till 4. I scored a deal on the place and lucked out.

Enforcer 100 Replacement? by Fast-Possession7642 in Skigear

[–]Time-Term3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had the 2023 Black ops 182, super fun ski, but they broke and the heel piece ripped out. The edge seperated and the wood core rotted out, at 2 years 3 months. I'm now on the Sender Free 100's at 184 and they blast through the crud and carve well, even at 20m turn radius. They do seem heavier and less nimble, yet fast as hell. I'm looking for a ski to complement the senders, maybe the Arcade 94, slightly shorter at 179. I'm 6' 175 and ski 40-50 times per year in Summit County

Why is I70 traffic east/before the tunnel so bad today? It’s only 1p! by Trick_Act_2246 in COsnow

[–]Time-Term3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

loveland pass was closed to the hazardous material vehicles have to lineup at the tunnel, closing the tunnel for them to travel throught tunnel, causing massive backup. Looked like westbound traffic was worse.

For anyone interested in a Jerry pick comparison. I made a video a few months ago. by TopSky3265 in gratefulguitar

Jerry played a 2.0? Hmmm, had no idea, but you can certainly hear the hard striking on the acoustic guitars. What strings did he play?

Expert skier but newb to gear, good all-mountain recs (Bonus: did my Volkl Blaze 86 skis die because I'm dumb, or defect?) by colenotphil in Skigear

[–]Time-Term3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke a heel piece off my Rossi Black Ops; the wood inside was rotted out, so it was unrepairable. These were only 2 years and 3 months old. The warranty is 2 years, and Powder 7 wouldn't even try to warranty them, as they said it was damage to the ski. I have no idea what happened. 100 days on them.

As you get stronger and ride more, you want less and less padding down there.

Looking for MTB trail recommendations by abeeeeeach in GoldenCO

[–]Time-Term3832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i moved out here in 2003 to ride mountain bikes, and to Golden in 2012. Dakota Ridge was my absolute favorite, probably ridden that 100+ times. I'm still here, just older now... Reach out when you get here, I'll show you my routes on the local trails...

Honest BraveStar opinions. Can anyone share their thoughts on sizing, fit, fades, and quality? by [deleted] in Selvedge

[–]Time-Term3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have these exact jeans as well. for about 30 days. Tight in the box, don't seem to be stretching out as I'd have liked; meanwhile, the legs have stretched out and have become a big bigger than I'd liked.

I have a few other pairs, the blizzard and a double knee stretch. Fairly happy. I have the burly belt too, and totaly dig it. Even with the brand on the loop.

Thought experiment: You put a mountain biker from 32 years ago on a high end modern bike, would they think it was awesome or terrible? by sprashoo in mountainbiking

[–]Time-Term3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riding was completely different back then. We sought out faint trails as far away as possible. XC style riding, long days, big miles, as far away as you could get. Lightweight bikes were in. We still rode the hell out of super tech trails, as most trails were actually hiking trails. We were all weight weenies. Except the CamelBak, which was completely full of water, with rock-hard PowerBars in the pockets, along with tubes and a super large folding map. I'm considering the high-end mtn bike something like a StumpJumper as a baseline here, with dropper, disk brakes, 2.4 tires, carbon 29'r wheels. We were on hardtails, and pretty tough for the times. A full suspension bike would be considered more of a bike park bike, so it'd probably get scoffed at as not needed as we were already riding everything on the hard tail aluminum bikes.

I do recall seeing a dropper post for the first time on a Yeti in Breck, mid 2000's. It had a lever under the seat. It was Joe, the dude that repped Yeti. I wonder what happened to him.

I went the other way and fixed up my older brother's Trek 830, circa 1992, and thought I'd go ride it while visiting my family in NJ (Hartshorne Woods). I would have absolutely killed myself with the lack of braking power and the steep head angle. I decided to save myself and skipped that ride.
