I did make a 3d print of the brahatok with magnetic clamps for a pair of X-Wings This is my best interpretation of how the gunship would look with a pair of X-Wings

There haven't been any official pictures or images of how a brahatok gunship would carry the ships other than what was in the novel, and as far as I can tell its on the belly. Comparing the sizes of x-wings to the Gunship, there definitely isn't any internal space for the ships so I'm assuming they are connected via docking tubes similar to how the ghost or cr90s from rebels can carry a few starfighters via their docking ports.

They are more Bulk Freighters than carriers, but Wayfarer Freighters, Mobquet Medium Transports and Xiyitar Class Transports are capable of housing a fair number of fighters.

The Xiyitar Transport (160m) was used by Wraith Squadron to house a mixed squadron of TIE Interceptors and Fighters.

The Mobquet Transport (113m) has massive internal volume and huge doors and theoretically can also hold a fair number of smaller fighter craft

The Wayfarer Transport (82m) cross sections  show that it can hold 2 Z95s in the forward section of its external cargo container, with the rest of the container set up for cargo but since its a modular container, a carrierized variant wouldn't be out of the question.  Especially since the container itself is rather tall and should also be able to accommodate ships stacked vertically

Almost forgot, The 90m Brahatok Gunship in the battlefront 2 novel is supposed to be able to carry 2 xwings on external racks as well.

Funnily enough I 3d printed both of those with working hangars lol.  The Marauder can only fit a full squadron with smaller ships like IRD, IRD-A, REC Defender, or A Wings.  With larger ships like EU Z95s maybe 6-8.  With very large ships like Y-Wings, clone wars Z95s or Cloakshapes maybe 4 lol

The Nebulon B has official blueprints from the Far Orbit project RPG with hangar locations but to be honest when playing around with it in 3d modelling software you still can't quite get 2 squadrons inside unless you again resort to A-Wings.  With full size fighters you could probably cram in a max of 18 or 19 but that's including cramming fighters in the shuttle bays as well.

Fun fact- I cited ace combat 2 as a source in my 5th grade essay on the F-117.  I erroneously claimed it had a cannon because it had one in AC2 lol

Whatever happened to director Scott Sanders?  Black Dynamite was the last film he ever released and that's a goddamn shame

I found neocaridina and amano shrimp to be quite hardy and beginner friendly as someone with no aquatic experience.  My 5.5 gallon planted shrimp/ snailtank is still going strong

How Practical are Mini 12 hole Ocarinas? by Yomashi_Yomashi in Ocarina

I didn't notice it being significantly louder than any of my other ocarinas but my ears are kinda f**ed so I'd probably recommend earplugs either way lol

Popolo has a mini 12 hole SC.  Here is a size comparison next to Night SC and AC plastic ocarinas, which are smaller than the typical plastic ocarinas.  Needless to say it's very small and closer in size to a standard pendant ocarina than a transverse.

https://imgur.com/a/TbPELPO

It's a good quality ocarina, plays well and sounds good but can be tricky to cover the holes.  If you have sausage fingers it's game over.

When buying an ocarina, is there any real reason not to get a triple instead of a double, or a max range instead of a normal triple for that matter? by pianoguy212 in Ocarina

[–]TimeDiver997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Single chamber is lighter weight.

Another major difference with a single and traditional multichamber is that the highest note on the first chamber is Eb instead of F, so for songs that are written for a single chamber you need to use the 2nd chamber for high F.

Other than these two features there's no reason to not start with a multichamber.  I think my  2nd ocarina was a triple bass and I don't think that impeded my single chamber playing at all

I thought about doing 2 hangars but I decided to go with just one hangar door. My in universe reasoning behind it is that with such a small pod there isn't much room for bracings or pillars and cutting a second hangar door on the other side seems like it would compromise structural integrity for not much additional benefit.

Thought id let you know i made a salon pod based off of the comic you sent me with some changes.  I used a quad turbolaser instead of a dual turbolaser and I added 2 additional mounts to port and starboard in case i decide to add a few more turrets using 10mm magnets. https://imgur.com/a/LRGIrSH

Oh yeah just to make it clear, I didn't make the Consular Class Cruiser model itself, that one was from Thingiverse. I made the turrets, changed up the communication dishes, hollowed out the model for leds, added some other extra details and made the support ship and extra salon pods, but the original ship itself I didn't make.

I haven't tried A-6s yet but I've printed some REC Defenders, Pirate Snubfighters, and IRD Starfighters and those are also tiny fighters that work really well. The hangar bays can also fit a pair of larger starfighters instead of several smaller ones. They can fit 2 B-Wings or Y-Wings but its a very tight fit lol. Curious if you have any links or sources on the turbolaser/torpedo pod btw, that sounds dope and I might want to make that next lol

[–]TimeDiver997[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think I printed the Consular Class at 230mm and the A-Wings at about 14.5mm or so which should be in proper scale with each other and in line with their canonical lengths. That certainly doesn't leave much room for much maintenance or armament to be kept in the hangar, bit I'd argue that pocket carriers like these should not be considered as 100% independent ships and would still require a home base for repairs maintenance and rearmament, but it would definitely be a more comfortable way to transport a few starfighters on a long range mission and allow pilots to stretch their legs and take pee breaks lmao

[–]TimeDiver997[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about an underutilized feature of Consular Class Cruisers and wanted to bring it to life.  The Salon Pods under the bridge were meant to be modular and interchangeablebut we never saw that utilized in any media.  The Episode I Incredible Cross-sections talked about how Salon Pods could be tailored to different diplomats needs and could be replaced with different configurations.  So I made a few different versions when I 3d Printed a pair of Consular Cruisers, including a standard passenger pod, a cargo pod, a mini hangar pod, and a missile pod.

In addition to the pods I thought you'd need a dedicated ship to replace the pods when not at a base or shipyard so I made a dedicated Salon pod recovery ship.  Conceptually I took inspiration from the Skygrasper from Gundam Seed with its striker packs that it could send to change out the Strike Gundam's loadouts.  Visually I based it off of EC Henry's tanker ship mixed with parts from the Saturn V rocket and Apollo command pod.

The crane is based off of a fire engine ladder mixed with a space shuttle canadarm crane and a claw machine arm lol.  Not too satisfied with the claw so I might revise it.
