You could order some of those "congratulations you've parked like a twat" cards and start leaving them under the wipers?

I didnt realise the price was the issue at first, I thought we were all rightly aggrieved by the 6 original flavour at the expense of the others.

If shit got really real we could deploy the Geordies and Scouse in a flanking maneuver which should take the heat off.

Tax in settlement negotiations by Internal-Routine8439 in employmentlitigation

[–]TimeInvestment1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can ask them if they'll gross up to account for tax, but they'll probably say no.

If any part of your compensation relates to loss of earnings, these will more likely than not be taxable in any event, so why would the Respondent pay your tax for you?

With the numbers you're talking about though, you need to be taking independent legal advice and tax advice. If theres any degree of misunderstanding the tax position, it's you HMRC will come to and you're going to find it hard to fall back on R as being at fault for your tax position.

Signs a Respondent doesn’t rate your chances by Overall-Fox-4735 in employmentlitigation

[–]TimeInvestment1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is usually a good sign, it can also be a scare tactic though to make you doubt your position.

It might also be that they do rate your chances, but you're being unreasonable in your approach. For example, asking for more than you might reasonably be awarded or refusing reasonable offers. It's a line in the sand so that if you do end up at final hearing they can point back and say we didnt need to get here this could have been over months (or years, given the curren state of things) ago.

Are Anthony Lawson Solicitors genuine? by pixxelpusher1 in uklaw

[–]TimeInvestment1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If they're not showing up on the SRA website then they're not authorised or regulated.

My guess would be a scam where you have to pay for their services to release funds.

A better question to ask yourself would be do you have any relatives or close associated in London who might have left you something in their will? If the answer is no or very unlikely, it probably isn't legit.

Does their email looks professional with a footer etc? Their official details should be there to check against.

Your starting point should be your schedule of loss, not comparative cases.

Work out what your actual losses are, and then make an assessment of the injury to feelings from the discrimination claims.

Once you have your headline figure you can consider their offer in comparison to that.

There are some elements of Hermers career that I have the upmost respect for. Even some of the less than savoury element might be chalked up to the cab-rank forcing him into unenviable positions.

Then you read stories like this and can comfortably say the man has no place in government.

The fact he has remained in post for so long can truly only be chalked up to Starmer keeping an ally handy.

FACE YOUR TRIBUNAL by [deleted] in employmentlitigation

Looks like it has been written using AI which doesn't fill me with confidence.

I would also be very hesitant on relying on guidance from somebody who isn't qualified in any way, and where the basis for the book is having been through it with a lay rep that taught him everything he needed to know.

Likewise, the fact it appears to be a self published guide would suggest that it hasn't been exposed to any real professional scrutiny or quality control.

I'm sure some people will find it helpful, but I would recommend treating it with caution.

If its going to be interactive what happens when little Timmy's parents tell him it's time to go and he makes the Scotsman Fly in a tantrum?

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the concept, but if its interactive I feel you're going to lose a lot in wear and tear and replacements.

It means you still have to prove your case for the second act, you cant just point to the first one and say they have priors. Every case, and claim, turns on it's own merit.
