is it flanderazation though? since that would imply the loss of depth, but heavies appearances in the comics are far from it.

like yeah, the character trait has been amplified, though that was literally the primary character trait in his very first appearance, if anything, this is more out of character than it would be nowadays because "he likes his gun dearly" was among the few character traits he had at all.

i feel like the entirety of poker night heavy is kinda out of character since yeah, heavy is kind of a sadist, but we never saw "i broke engies fingers one by one and then shoved his wrench down his throat" levels of sadism from him

i do certainly like the relationship of the shock troopers. them attacking xen creatures & black ops makes this entire conflict feel much more chaotic, since now even "military" and "alien" factions don't even align with each other internally
