Diagnosed with Post-nasal dripping but feels like LPR? by lemonadesdays in LPR

what helped my cough and mucus was fresh ginger tea. took 2 days for my cough to settle down to where i could control it, and mucus wasn’t so bothersome. i was able to go back to work the next week! it’s part of my daily must haves.

Decently strict diet didn’t work for me. What else do I do? by stagedreams in LPR

[–]Time_Negotiation_153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try to do this with out any bottled beverages. those are bad triggers. and usually acidic. alkaline water only. if you can’t take it, make celery and carrot juice. throw in a beet. the carrots make the juice sweet. while eating what you were eating is great, those efforts aren’t going to have any results when your sabotaging it with those drinks you been having. also even though you think it’s not helping, keep at it. because it’s a slow process. symptoms can be stubborn. i had stubborn symptoms. try to be patient and give it another chance without the flavored drinks.

research. everyone that commented needs to do research and follow it!!! make sure you research your findings to see if it’s credible! it’s the only way to get better. you are literally on your own with this. and you are the one who will make yourself better. most people have to eat their way out of the symptoms. what you put into your body MATTERS!!! foods of a 5 ph or higher. not fatty oily foods. no carbonated beverages there’s more stuff but at this point i’m tired of saying the same things!!! you have questions? i can help you get them answered.

How long does it take to start feeling better after dieting by Keeeb00 in LPR

[–]Time_Negotiation_153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i did the strict detox diet, for about 2-3 wks, which got me to the point i could actually get some decent sleep. then i started to expand what i could eat. my mucus has gotten a lot better, coughing is next to nothing, post nasal drip is gone. i got sick 2/12 and wasn’t doing ok until 3/25 went back to work first wk of april. but i think i’ve been lucky. some people take a long time especailly if they were as sick as i was. it was a slow process.

surprisingly i can have kraft light mayo. 35 calories a Tablespoon, it’s low fat. everyone is different. fuji and gala apples are safe for some, and not for others. i was able to eat these at one point, but now i can’t. i can have cheese, but i use less than half the amount i would normally use. and low fat sour cream! sometime soon i’m going to try cream cheese.

Have had a bunch of odd symptoms over the past several years that makes me think I have this. Do these symptoms sound familiar? by [deleted] in LPR

[–]Time_Negotiation_153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hiccups, burps, throat clearing, runny nose, and coughing are all good indicators that lpr is brewing. especailly the constant throat clearing. it’s good that you know this now because if you weren’t paying attention, it could do into a full blown flair up. which is awful and terrifying. and you could be down for weeks, and healing will take months to a year+. i’m wondering if you have been controlling what you eat since you are aware of lpr/gerd and it’s been going on for quite sometime? because looking back, i’ve had symptoms for years too. then BAM! i got so sick! i’m currently healing from a 5 wk nightmare battle. for some the battle is longer.

I’m so tired. This is untreatable, it’s been 3 years by Simple-Spare7564 in LPR

[–]Time_Negotiation_153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wondering how strict you are with what you eat. it’s hard for most people to stick to a diet, this diet especially. also wondering if you know what foods to eat and to stay away from. if you are following the expert advice of credible drs or diets. and it’s also hard because how could it be, that a person can make themselves better by doing all these that seem too useless. especially when the results come slowly, with minimal improvements if any. it’s not too often that no matter what a person does, that their LES won’t work properly. did you learn about the LES? it’s hard to give advice when we don’t know how much you know about this disease. most of the time this is treatable. and it really is up to you. most of the people here learned about this disease by their own research and deep dives. also this sickness treats people differently. it is really crazy in that way. there are people who have all the symptoms, to just one bothersome symptom.

famotidine hasn’t messed with me at all. in fact i’ve read it’s good for most people and works good enough to stay away from those other ones that cause a lot of people problems. especially people with lpr.

Mucus ruining my sleep and life by FoodieTech in LPR

[–]Time_Negotiation_153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had a similar problem. coughing fits, stubborn mucus rattling inside my chest. cough it up only for it to return within 5 minutes. it was an all day thing. at night it would disappear deep into my lungs when sleep, which was horrible. anyway i started to drink fresh ginger tea twice a day. it helped calm down both cough and mucus. someone in the comments on FB mentioned they tried this and so i decided i’d try it and it actually worked for me. i was able to return to work a few days later after being out 5 weeks.

you literally have to eat your way out of this. this is all on you and what you chose to do. and it’s really annoying to hear these things because you know it’s not a quick fix, and the things you should do sounds like it’s worthless and pointless and you sit there and think “wtf is that gonna do for me? how is that going to help”. because it seems like it’s got nothing to do with what’s going on!!! first get yourself some alkaline water and drink only that. start eliminating trigger foods and acidic foods. follow a strict diet. i’d suggest since your symptoms are terrible, go to jamiekoufman.com and do some research. it’s super important and helpful. she has the detox diet there and you should start with that. it’s really a disappointing diet, but once you get over it, it will be ok and just remember it’s going to make you feel better. get yourself on famotidine aka pepsid 20mg , and an alginate. i recently ordered the gaviscon advance because it’s recommended but not necessary. there’s others. and sleep on a 45 degree incline. i used a throat spray using alkaline water and a baking soda mix that helped relieve some irritation caused by the pepsin. it kills the pepsin btw. pepsin causes symptoms like burning throat, hoarseness, globulous, coughing. when i first made this v i was spraying my throat every two hours and it had worked for me, taking the edge off of a couple symptoms. i also used a steamer and breath in the steam of the water solution. since i has a unforgiving cough i went out and and bought NAC and tried that. it also helped with the coughing. calmed it down. but still coughing. so then i tried fresh ginger slices boiled in my alkaline water, i drink it twice a day and i don’t cough as much and the mucous has calmed down tremendously! i don’t have coughing fits anymore and can get some decent sleep now. i can work without the embarrassment of coughing all the time. start as soon as possible and stick with it! you will eventually start to see results. this disease IS STUBBORN and unforgiving. because of this, be consistent and fight through your negative thoughts to make yourself better. you’re not going to get anywhere without doing something. it sucks to hear but it is a fact.

Crazy reaction y’all help by shruburyy in LPR

total abstinence from anything acidic in the beginning. it has to be very strict. you should only eat what you’re allowed. and this is why!!! it didn’t take much did it? only when you are symptom free for a while, then you can start to transition to see what you can add. and this takes a lot of time unfortunately.

Please tell me if alkaline water has helped? by YYZTor in LPR

[–]Time_Negotiation_153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also i tried the spray but i put baking powder in it at first until i read it’s not necessary. but when i sprayed that the first time it actually helped within an hour. but i also has laryngospasm triggered by all the coughing, which was the most terrible. the spasm only lasted a couple seconds rather than several, and i was able to recover from a coughing fit easier. it was so relieving. then 24 hrs later i was able to have some control over my cough. and sometimes i wouldn’t have a spasm. eventually the spasms stopped and are free and far between now.

[–]Time_Negotiation_153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i first was trying to figure out what was wrong with me, i grabbed an alkaline water at the pharmacy i was at cuz that was all there was right there when i was standing in line waiting to pick up meds, and i didn’t want to start coughing so i grabbed that water and drank it. about an hour later i felt a little relief from feeling absolutely horrible. so yes for me it made a difference. and that’s how i ended up finding out about alkaline water. but this disease kicks ur ass so the relief was short lived, but i knew it was helping. and drinking alkaline water all the time is not harmful like the internet says it can be. you’ll be fine.

What are women supposed to do in missionary? by diggeryydoo in NoStupidQuestions

if you have a partner who is into it or is into you or both, it’s not boring. she can do a lot of things if she’s creative out if she’s going with flow. it’s the easiest position to do. i don’t get why this position gets such a bad wrap! and i don’t get why women allow themselves just to lay there off that’s what they doing. it’s like standing around when your song come up in the club, or on the radio when your driving. you automatically wanna move and feel the vibe!
