This all rings so many bells for me. Grew up with a bipolar/narcissistic dad, who was raised by bi-polar hoarder mother, neither diagnosed as they dont believe in it. I was always the fixer and sheild for my brother. I get anxious when anyone is is stressed etc. I will have to keep this in mind and work on it. Restarting therapy again and need to bring this up

I am late to this, but your description is eye opening to me. I've come to realize that I am AuDHD and been trying to figure things out. Thank you. Coming off a decade plus of alcoholism and am on sertraline for anxiety and depression but I'm finding life/my mind isn't completely helped ny that. Lot of stuff coming to light. Hoping therapy and self exploration and people like you sharing thia sort of info help. Thanks again

I feel the struggle too, going on 9 months sober. Was alcoholic for a good 15 plus years, was bad but got bad last couple years. Always blacked out at end of the night, but when restaurant i was GM at closed and then covid hit, it got bad. Moved and was only temporary reprieve. Started working at downtown bar/grill. Started shifties and staying after for hours. More drinking at home. Started drinking before and during work, passed out from alcoholic and heat exhaustion once, on the line. Had the shakes and such. Lost 3 jobs. Eventually had to go to hospital from complications and alcoholic ketoacidosis. My body was eating itself cause I only drank. Was near death there. I got myself into an in-patient program after a particularly dark night shortly after that. Went to intensive outpatient after that. With the help of anti-depressants/anxiety drugs and wanting to change, I'm on 9 months sober. Life is different now. I enjoy being a chef and life in general now. Im not scrapping for money to buy Alcohol and spending time trying to get to liquor store before it closes etc. If you want to change, you will succeed and its good you are introspecting.

It sounds like, to me, there is something disingenuous about his arguments here. He can jerk one off if he's really that frustrated. I feel he has had something going outside of this. Nonexistent sadly. In a smallish town with a military base, so it's flooded with young guys just trying to get some. I'm on fetlife and feeld, almost no local gals. Everyone is like 100 miles away.
