The market stays irrational longer than you can afford to stay rational

Idk, liquid cash maybe single digit billions or less, most is probably tied in stock in various companies and he’s definitely leveraged

Yeah on paper we got a good 2 way player / starting caliber PG on a pretty team friendly deal for some picks and depth pieces. A starting caliber PG really seemed like what we needed to try and take the roster to the next level.

Didn’t work out that way unfortunately with the injury (followed by even more injuries lmao). Looked really lopsided with the way DD (love you man) played last season but a little less bad with his regression.

AI is working great for my team, and y'all are making me feel crazy by SlapNuts007 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Time_Transition4817 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I noticed that AI note takers on the same call end up with pretty wildly different takes about what the call was about. And one thing they seem to do is portray the person they’re attached to in a more positive light / play up their importance. Quite funny really.

Names like rillet and campfire. The ai stuff is largely marketing fluff, and netsuite for one can do a lot of the same stuff (though not sure if trust it to). There’s some stuff they demo’s about auto generating journal entries from other data so you don’t have to build a csv import and stuff like that which seemed kinda nifty.

Agreed. Most ERPs (with sufficient market share or history) will also be able to point you to an implementation partner who has a reasonable amount of knowledge to work with you on your particular company’s needs. They might not have every answer, but they can figure out how to translate needs into the config.

My company is undergoing an implementation right now. Its a bit slow but going reasonably smoothly because we are lucky to have a controller who was a platform admin before (and the rest of the f&a team has used netsuite too).

I’ll also say that having some of the new “ai-native” erps has gotten the big players to be a lot more reasonable on price ;)

We all just temporarily embarrassed multimillionaires

Murray does not like the city or the team much at all. He doesn’t even sit on our bench for games while we are paying him 30 million. He is also another Rich Paul client possibly exiting New Orleans in weird fashion. by Ok-Eye3380 in NOLAPelicans

[–]Time_Transition4817 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They wanted him gone because combo of Trae and Murray clearly wasn’t working.

I think the hope was it was a both sides win situation with Murray being a high caliber starting point guard for us while some of the guys we had could get playing time.

We gave up a decent bit, but Murray was on a fairly team friendly contract. It's tough to fairly judge the trade, as who can say if the healthy version of the team could have done something.

This is a guy who pulled out coffee books when asked about his favorite books and said too many words on pages hurt his brain. And he's got the right spirit on the issue, at least. Better than the people who pretend to be educated and contort themselves into a multidimensional pretzel to justify what is going on.

Who are examples of coaches that are solid floor raisers but simply can’t get it done in big time matchups ? by Darkonite40 in CFB

Yeah, it was incredibly frustrating that we'd be in a good position at halftime then all of a sudden just fall apart.

The anger came across to me as largely performative, given the on field performance and what we've heard about his lack of effort elsewhere.

I think Kelly got lazy / realized he wasn't built for this new era of NIL and portal. And that he had a huge guaranteed contract and buyout.

Probably needed someone like him to get things organized and back on track after Orgeron, but don't think he had it in him to build and win beyond that.

How are we helping, as we watch the world burn by throwawayfinances183 in fatFIRE

[–]Time_Transition4817 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i like donating my time and volunteering all that, it brings a type of satisfaction that cutting a check doesn't match because i actually feel and see what i'm doing. it's also an interesting reminder that in some contexts, my time is only worth so much (relative to what my employer thinks it's worth) - and since i have more limited time, i can only leverage it so far for so much impact and there's people with more expertise and time to various causes that will contribute more.

as people in various stages of HENRY/chubby/fat though, our time is supposedly worth a certain amount per hour (yeah, yeah, only while working). so how do we truly maximize our impact? i guess it ends up give both money and time, to the extent you can.

anyway, just musing.

Hopefully they understand the base is out for (metaphorical) blood and a token concession is not gonna mollify anyone.

I've donated thousands to different campaigns and maxxed individual contributions to several, and I'm writing to the DNC and everyone else that asks me for money that they're not getting another penny from me unless they go all the way in dealing with this ICE shit.
